2016 2.0 Oil Leaks?

Anyone having issues with the 2.0 leaking oil?

It's an early 2016, made Jan of 16. Purchased Feb 6 2016.

10500 miles

Purchasing dealer had the car for 11 days, replacing crank seal, valve cover gasket and resealing timing cover.

I was checking it over the weekend, and it is now leaking worse than before. (had it back for 3 days)

I have it scheduled to visit another dealer later this week.

I know first posts of a negative nature are generally frowned upon.

I do love the car, and really hope this doesn't turn into an ongoing problem.

There was no mention of the turbo lines.

I'm less than satisfied with the dealer at this time.

They wouldn't tell me what exactly was leaking, I just got back a list of parts and an invoice that said RR this and that.

when ask, I was even told I could not speak to the technician performing the work.

All of this, and more, is why it is going to see another dealer.

Oil leaks on a new Ford are extremely rare these days. Things have just gotten that good. Definately see another dealer because that does not, sound right. Oil leaks are usually straight forward so,long as it is not something internally wrong that is destroying the gaskets or lines such as poorly machined components throwing off metal shavings like was the case in one of my Land Rovers. Why don't you post a review of the dealer in the dealer section of this site? I know that many people only find out after buying their car that they bought from a crappy dealer. You will love that twin scroll 2.0 as it continues to break in.

I left the Edge at the 2nd dealer last night.

Our initial inspection is the front cover is leaking, long with the turbo line.

A 2nd tech is going to have a look today.

We suspect the turbo line may have been the issue all along, and now the front cover from potentially unnecessary work.

Since the front cover is now a workmanship issue, there needs to be some discussion on who is paying for what.

I do intend to do dealer reviews, but not until I have this resolved.

Appreciate the responses, and look forward to putting this to bed.

Aside from this, we do love the car.

If the car only has 10,500 Ford is paying for it.

Especially if the dealer did the work. According to warranty you used "certified technicians" to repair your vehicle the warranty is still valid regardless of if the cover was removed or not.

There should be no questions as to who's paying it should just be a matter of you drop it off and they fix it. If anyone is trying to make you pay you need to refer them to the 3 year/36k bumper to bumper warranty. That should end any discussion of who pays.

Exactly. This is all part of the original warranty repair. Give the dealer one more chance to fix it then take it to another dealer and/or call Ford for assistance.

The 2nd dealer refused to get involved. I had no choice but to return to the original selling/servicing dealer.

Got the car back yesterday, from the original selling/servicing dealer.

Attached is a picture of the parts list.

Some of the parts listed I question (bolts?) but if it's fixed it's fixed.

I'll just assume initially a random issue that was handled poorly the first time.

This trip was 4 days, vs the initial visit of 11 days.

The valve cover was done during the 1st trip, along with timing cover and front crank seal.

(there is no valve cover gasket listed on the 2nd invoice. It was on the 1st)

I'll never know the source of the original leak, but the 2nd trip they say was the valve cover - that was done incorrectly the 1st time.

It appears to be fixed. If any other issues come up, they will be done at a different dealer.
