Windshield Washer Fluid Level Light?

Recommended Posts

Hi

I bought my 2012 Edge SEL on Dec 26 and have not yet added any washer fluid is there a light that lets you know when the level gets low? I looked in the manual and didnt see anything.

Thanks Andy

I don't think so. If you press the button for washer fluid and none comes out - you're out.

On my 2011 LTD if the washer fluid is low, there is a message on the left side of the ode looks like a picture of the windshield and you have to press ok to get rid of it.

^^^This. It's a fairly large reservoir, mine will take a full 4L jug once the low level warning comes on.

I have a '13 edge sport and my wiper fluid level went low and the light came on indicating it was low as well as the dash board indicator telling me it was low. Today I refilled it. The indicator and light will not turn off now. Anyone experience this? Anyone know the fix?

I know that you need to nearly completely refill the washer bottle to turn off the light. Don't think there's a reset, supposed to reset automatically when you refil.

Also you can damage the sensor by using Rain-X washer fluid (or any fluid that beads up on the windshield). These fluids coat the two sensor elements and the sensor thinks the tank is perpetually low. (Have to pull the sensor and clean the tabs with Dawn Dishwashing soap).

On my 2011, I don't have to refill it completely to turn off the light. If fact, it goes off even if I am on a slope and the sensor gets recovered.

Mine as well, but his sensor may be coated and needs depth to get it to register (if it can register. Sensor elements may need to be cleaned or changed).
