So i realize the engine is mounted differently and the intake manifor is different because of that, but has anyone tried mustang performance parts for the edge? I have also seen a few people complain about the "top speed" being limited...1. its a SUV, 2. from what i have read in a few magazines(car/driver, motortrend) the v6 mustang is limited as well to 113ish(only thing the v6 camaro beat it in was top speed).

Top speed is usually limited because of the speed rating of the tires. Don't see how Mustang performance parts will help Edge.

Turned sideways, with different air intake path, different power take off, different tuning, different exhaust, and some other things I can't think of right now.

doesn't mean you can buy a kit and make it fit and get a tune and exhaust

I think the only way adding bolt on's make any sense is with a custom tune.

good luck getting that kit to fit with the way the pulleys are on the edge, my guess is it won't work.

He's 16. He'll learn. Sounds like someone will be voiding warranties lol

i don't have the money for it anyway, I'm curious to see what else is possible because it seems like everyones having trouble with tunes and its not like a cold air intake and exhaust do anything performance wise.

I don't think that kit will work easily. But a good shop, one that spcializes in custom super charger and turbo applications, could probably fab up something that would work. Lamotta performance, in Longwood (Orlando area), Fl, could make one work. He has his own dyno for the tuning. In addition to the parts and tuning, you also have to give some thought to under hood heat, and how you're going to get rid of it.(in addition to pistons and rods not designed for super charger applications)

I maxed mine out at 120mph... I was upset to see it 20mph below the dash top speed =(

I would worry about driveline components at 115+mph.. especially with the AWD models. The mustang is known to grenade driveshafts without its speed limiter.

First i must add that the 2013 Genesis coupe spanked both the camaro and mustang v6's. Havinv said that, you might get a set of pulleys to work, but the best bang for the buck is a good tune.

Seems to be a $7K disparity in Mustang and Genesis pricing; that's over 25%! I am sure that adding a supercharger and some minor suspension upgrades would get you a far more aggressive pony for still under the cost of the current Genesis offering.

But it's good to have competition!

P.S.: My real complaint with the mustang has always been the heavy doors. Other than that, I have enjoyed driving every version of it from the L4 on up. Takes a bit of control in bad weather (i.e. snow/ice), but appropriate tires help a lot :)

Going an extra 30mph isn't worth voiding the warranty

shouldn't be about top speed, should be more on acceleration.

The parts that will fit without issue, the Accel coil packs and the 73mm throttle body, barring you have an intake that can handle it.  I think the throttle body spacer can work also.  So far thats really it.  I have the 2012 Mustang GT, I've been wondering if I can get the coyote engine in it!
