I have a 2013 Ford Edge SEL with the Ford 2 way communication remote start. Last night I set the climate control system for the windshield defroster mode so when I start the car in the morning with the remote start, the windshield defroster will start. I noticed this morning after I remotely started the car that the buttons were not illuminated in the car and only the parking lights were on with the engine on of course. My last car which was a Mercury Milan would allow whatever heating and cooling function was running when I shut the car off to reactivate when I started the car with the remote start. When I start my Edge normally without the remote start, all functions work propoerly. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be appreciated. To me the whole idea of the remote start is to heat, cool or defrost prior to getting in your car.

Thanks,

Dean

The remote start auto options are for heated or cooled seats, neither option functions at start up.

The auto temperture option works the way it is program for the temperture set by the My Temperture setting.

My Temp. is set at 71 degrees. When below 71 the heat is on, above 71 the AC is on.

I just bought a 2012 Edge and I'm very frustrated with Ford! When you buy the car you hear 'remote start' and 'climate settings' and I can see theheated seat settings in the left menu. But then to learn that someone at Ford decided that it would only work at freezing or lower -- that's ridiculous. I live in Sacramento and the temp often gets down to 35F. Where I'm from that's friggen cold and I want my butt warmed up. I can choose from about 7 different colors for the interior "mood lights", but I can't configure the temp to have the seat heaters come on? Come on!
