Original owner 2007 Edge Select 100K+ miles

I joined this forum when I bought my Edge new in late 2007. She is now paid for, have about 104,000 miles on her with no major issues.

Replaced the rear struts (one was toast), the windshield washer plumbing from the reservoir to the squirters, just about ready to get her third set of tires.

Had the Ford dealer do a once over last year year before our summer vacation and the mileage improved about 3-4mpg over the year before's vacation (side note; mileage when to pot in Kansas and Nebraska when the pollen clogged the aircleaner - replaced in Santa Fe and it's been great ever since). Typically get 25-26mpg on the road, 21 -22 in town during my commute. Stop and go traffic sucks it down. I'm also a light foot. :)

Quality wise this car has been a real hoot compared to an '03 VW Jetta wagon we had and a '03 Town & Country mini van (hope this post does not jinx me!). The latch for the lid on the center console is broke; need to replace it. I suspect it's something I did but you can't buy just the latch, you have to get the whole lid. :(

I have been wondering if there are other long term owners out there and I thought the group might be interested in hearing about a single owner high mileage unit. I plan on keeping it for another year or two. Possible replacements; Ford pickup so we can tow a trailer or a Subaru wagon. We have an Outback for the wife and it has been super too, but the Edge is a better road tripping car. I'd get another Edge but when I retire I want to downsize or get something that can tow a trailer, haul a motorcycle or wood.

102k on mine. Original owner. Great ride thus far. Have recently replaced front wheel bearings. Typical maintenance stuff. Looking to upgrade stereo next. Still old schooler here with 6 disc changer from factory. Hard to get rid of when no payments and getting compliments all the time.....

200K! Wow!

Bearings, dang; I should consider repacking mine then. Completely off my radar.

I'm tempted to keep the car instead of trading it in, can't expect to get much for it and it is such a nice road car if we replace it with a pickup the gas mileage will suck and if we get a Subby they are not quite as nice on the road as my Edge.

Ya, that 6 CD changer was a waste of money (came with it, didn't order it) as well as satellite radio. I'll take FM and iPod hook up please. :D

I wish our mileage were better, but the wife isn't as easy on the pedal as I am. We have found the edge to be reliable, and we are around 95,000 miles with no major repairs. I would keep the vehicle if it is paid for. Trade-in would hurt, so might as well continue to enjoy the ride.

107,000 and going...07 SEL+ black

nothing major, I replaced the throttle body (thought it was a tranny issue, but after many posts decided to try the TB) So far so good. after the replacement it acted up big time, wife said it wouldn't hardly go, then took off like crazy and made a noise (don't know what it sounded like) but ever since it's done fine. i'm thinking carbon build up??? causing the oem TB to not function properly??? who know's.

need to get the plugs changed (still running the originals) and flush the coolant.

So far it's been an excellent vehicle, will probably give it an Awesome detail job, get all the maintenance done, and on sept. 13th (15') give it to my daughter for her 16th birthday. if I can pry my wife's hands off it. I surprised my wife with it new, she still like's it. should be good for another 100k.

'07 bought at 129k, now at 131k. Flush and Flash, washer pump and one nozzle replacement, new plugs/PCV valve, with a HVAC blower needed.

Wanted: new liftgate struts, splash guards, WeatherTec floor mats, rear-view camera, custom-made platform for dog hauling.

More pleased with it than I thought I would be.

update...My '07 SEL+ now has 172,000 miles. Just had to replace the torque converter...had the shudder at 40mph, decided to replace the converter before it self destructed and take the rest of the tranny with it.

Other than the rear wheel bearing, this is the only thing that I've had to replace in 11 years of ownership...other than routine maintenance items.

I plan on keeping this car...I don't care for the new ones...same body, but all that tech shit crammed into it just doesn't appeal to me..besides, why should I spend $40,000.00 plus on a new one when the current one is fine?? The way I take care of my vehicles, it looks brand new.

An update to the update...

Well, after 14 years, 1 month and 3 days, I traded my '07 Edge SEL+   with 204,000 miles for a 2021 Edge Titanium with all the bells and whistles.

If you want a very well cared for used Edge, George Coleman Ford in Traveler's Rest, SC, has it on the lot for $6000.  Won't be there long....
