Hi everyone,

I have a 2011 sport 69k mikes and I notice when parking in my garage after driving for a while that I smells slightly like coolant (the sweet smell) I have not noticed any puddles, but the coolant is slightly below the cool mark when hot in the tank. Are there any known issues? Also has anyone on here had a similar problem

Thanks for your help

Nick

Make sure the cap is tight on tank and it's not cross threaded.

Do you have the HVAC on when you notice the smell?  Any drips/stains on the carpet?  Trying to rule out heater core failure.

I'm from MN the heat has been on for the past 4 months... I don't notice it until I step out of the vehicle. Usually in my garage because there is no wind.

Cap is tight. I checked this when I noticed low coolant.

Could be the weep holes from the water pump, indicating pump failure.  The water pump is located behind the timing chain.  Repairs estimated at $1400-$1800 for my area (repairpal).  Not a VERY common issue, but has been mentioned a few times on this forum.

Thanks for the idea. I hope it's not that. My buddy runs a shop I'll check to see if he knows of anything else as well.

Hey Nick,

Have you been to your local Ford Dealer for this concern? Let me know and I'll look into available options on my end.

Todd
