For those complaining about Ford Customer Service

Recommended Posts

Mods -- feel free to move if this isn't the correct place for this post.

My son has a Cobalt that is in the current recall from Chevy. The letter said to get it to the dealer NOW and they will pay for a rental car until parts are in and work is done. He called the dealership where he purchased it and was told that they were out of rental cars and wouldn't have until for a couple of weeks. After arguing with them for a while, he hung up them and called a dealership closer to us. They have a single point of contact for it (not a service manager) and she said the people she needs to coordinate with had gone home for the day, but her's would be the FIRST call they return so she will be calling him tomorrow to arrange the rental for him.

I told him he should have told the first dealer to call Enterprise and get him a damn car.

His first calls tomorrow are to Chevy and to the state licensing department.

Moral: Not always the manufacturer that is the problem. Change dealers if you need to. You have no loyalty to them.

I can just imagine the burden of finding all those rental cars to perform this recall, and am not surprised the dealers are not prepared to handle the incoming flood!

I'm not either. However, there are lots of rental car agencies out there, USE THEM! When the letter says to take it in now and they will rent you a car, you expect them to be able to handle that.

What does this have to do with complaints about Ford customer service? The complaints with Ford vehicles and customer service are still there and this doesn't invalidate them.

Wasn't supposed to. Most of the time the complaints are against treatment from a DEALER. That;s what this was about. People tend to confuse DEALERSHIP customer service with FORD customer service. They are different businesses.
