2015 Edge Production dates

Really, really late. They were obviously planning to have it out sooner than this, otherwise they would have started 2015 production earlier and ended it in January so the new one would have been a 2016 model. They obviously ran into issues and therefore had to push it back a few months but it was too late to change the model year changeover.

How do you know they ran into issues, and what are the issues they ran into? Do you have inside information about the issues?

This is another reason I bought the 2013. Concerned with changes across the board on the 2015s.

What changes are you concerned about? So far from what I've seen and read the 2015 should be better than the 2006-2014 Edges. The 2011-2014 Edges are just refreshed 2006 Edges. The 2015s rides on a newer platform, and will have some new features, and engine choices.

Once the reviews start coming in, and I like how the 2015 Edge Sport drives, I will be dumping my 2013 Sport for the 2015 Sport.

No inside info. They did not release any dates for the 2014 or 2015 Edge until last month. They would have normally been released late spring or early summer. Had Ford been planning to launch the 2015 Edge in February 2015 all along it would have been designated as a 2016 model. The fact that it's still called a 2015 means they were planning to launch it in 2014.

I think the 15 sport will be ecoboost version of the 3.7 we have now. The upgrades I have seen on various sites show minor updates other than the powerplant. I am a big believer in not buying the first run year after changes were made. IMO, tried and true with what I have. If I were in the market i would probably hold off to see how things shake out with this model year, and re-evaluate about the time the 16s hit dealerships.

The 2015 Edge Sport will have a new 2.7L EB and will not use the 3.7. If I like the 2015 Edge Sport, I will be getting it next year.
