Plasti dipping grill anyone?

I've got the sport so my grill is already black was thinking about doing the chrome just under the hood like the pic above me.

I think it looks pretty bad ass but not sure if I will love it enough. I know they say the plasti dip comes off with out harming what your putting it on but I don't know if I believe that. I don't want to do it then end up hating it and it screw up the chrome.

Plus I don't know how I feel about the matte look. I know they have a gloss to put over it but to me it still looks a little dull

I did the plasti-dip. It looks great but doesn't last very long ( about 2 months). Maybe if you put it on REAL thick it will withstand the stone chips from the road hitting it. You get little "sparkly" things after awhile. I'm going to replace with the inserts. Plus it takes awhile to tape everything off before you dip it.

Or you could do this for just $100 for the grill and $50 for the plate bracket.

 

Put this grill on in Feb 2012, and it has survived New England Winters since. I may be wrapping it this summer after 90K miles
