cas Posted March 28, 2015 Report Share Posted March 28, 2015 Just bought a 2014 Edge SEL 2.0 Ecoboost engine. Love the vehicle, rides so smooth and quiet. Is there anything I should be aware of that might raise concerns? I use to own a 2009 Escape Limited, 6cyl, 4wd. I loved it, until, without warning the engine would surge, once causing me to slam into a barrier causing $10,000 damage, that was at 54,000 Km, the second time, at 84,000 km, while in park, foot nowhere near the gas pedal, the engine revved up to 6rpm's, shut it off immediately, said what the heck! Ford indicated they can't duplicate the problem, checked the throttle body and dismissed the incident. Has anyone ever had that problem?
