quality issue with 2015 model

I purchased a 2015 Edge Titanium in late April. So far, the car had spent more time in service then on my drive way. The problem has to do cabin noises resulted from the flexing of sheet metals. My understanding is this is either a manufacturing or design issue.

Anyone else has similar issues?

P.S. very very disappointed and extremely frustrated about my experience with my first Ford.

I only have 600km on mine, but haven't noticed any particular cabin noise. I did notice some interior noise when I picked it up from the dealer, as if the frame had to "settle in", but that disappeared the day after. Can you share details about the noise?

I took the car to the dealer initially for a rattling sound coming from the driver side in the 2nd row. Service department identified addition noise that should not have been there when the car is going below 35mph. The 1st sound might have masked the 2nd initially because it was very noticible on mine and was driving my wife crazy. I had not heard the 2nd sound because, as I said, it was probably masked. Try to drive your below 35mph and see if you notice any unusual sound.

They had to remove the sunroof and strip the ceiling material to get to the sheet metal to install pins to hold the sheet metals together.

I don't think they ever quit figure out if this is a design issue or manufacturing issue. It's possible you may not have similar problem, or if the issue is specific to the Titanium trim.

By the way, we first noticed the issue on our first family outting. My Edge only had about 80 miles on the odometer at the time. The problem never 'settled' away in our case.

I took mine to the dealer for the noise on the passenger side around 600 miles. It's a higher pitch noise that happens intermittently. The problem is still been diagnosed by the dealer's service department, working with Ford.

We also have the 2015 Edge Titanium that we purchased in June 2015. We had 500 miles on it when we went on a 2000 mile trip. The vehicle performed great (24.3mpg), quiet and no wind noises or rattles. The only concern that I have is when traveling two lane roads in Texas, Kansas o Nebraska which are usually 65 mpg and a BIG truck passes going the other way.....sometimes it looks like the hood flexes and wants to come off. Probably more my imagination about blowing off but it most certainly does flex. I checked all the latches and bolts and all is good so must be the design of the sheet metal used for the hood. We also tow behind our motorhome and it does great.

Should mention the issue to your service advisor next time you have the Edge in for service. Maybe the hoods are being made of a lighter material now? I do know it takes triple digit speeds for the hoods to flex on other model lines, maybe the additive effect of your speed and the big rig's speed did it ...
