Key/Remote buttons too sensitive ?

Recommended Posts

Do you find the key (remote) too sensitive ? The panic button gets pressed all the time when I leave the remote in my pockets. My previous car remote had the key sunked in, and you really had to press deep with a thumb nail to activate panic mode.

Really this is a first-world problem... but when I do work around the house it's annoying !

I've set off the horn in my garage several times with the fob in my pocket, even once in a parking lot just getting into my Edge. As soon as I sat down in the seat, the horn started honking! I assume the other keys on my ring get "tangled" around the fob while in my pocket, causing the button to be pushed.

I had a 2013 F-150 before this Edge, and I think I have already set off the horn more times in the 4 months I have had the Edge, than the 2-1/2 years I had the F-150.

This happens to me all the time.  It is very annoying, probably more so to my neighbors than me though.  If anyone has a solution that they know works for sure, I'd like to know.

FORScan (as usual):

Panic Alarm
BCM 726-37-01 xxxx xxx0 xxxx Panic alarm on fob disabled
BCM 726-37-01 xxxx xxx1 xxxx Panic alarm on fob requires 2 presses
BCM 726-37-01 xxxx xxx2 xxxx Panic alarm on fob enabled

Forscan.org and you need a OBDII connector to a PC. I use an ELM327-compatible USB connector.

The things one can do with FORScan will never cease to amaze me!  Thats a good find! I'm sure some will find it useful!
