I'm wondering if this is normal or if I have a problem or how to stop it from happing. On my 2014 EDGE Sport when I go WOT in sport mod in first gear and tap shift to second gear at 6000 rpm it shifts into second gear for a second or two and then shifts into third gear with out me touching the paddle. Is it suppose to do that? Its like it is skip shifting by its self. Any help here is appreciated. Thank you.

I think it will shift automatically sometimes if you're near redline.  I've heard conflicting reports.   My 2000 Lincoln LS was the first Ford vehicle with Selectshift and it would never upshift on its own.

Thanks for the info , Its at about 4000 RPMs when it shifts from second to third gear. It dose the same thing when I hit the paddle from third gear to fourth it shifts into fifth gear. Very strange, its as if it thinks I'm hitting the paddle shift again.

Try it at lower rpm and see if it behaves the same way.

I don't think it's normal. Probably a PCM reprogramming is required. Just report it to your dealer.

I tried it at lower same thing thanks, so I guess it is time for the Dealer. Try to do two things at the dealer, it seems to take a long time to go into drive after I have had it in reverse.

If you are paddle shifting when the car is in DRIVE... it will automatically shift.  For true paddle shifting... place the transmission in MANUAL.  Boom.
