Rear Rotor stuck on the hub, help?

Recommended Posts

Working on the rear pads and rotors. Got the driver's side done fairly easily, but passenger side rotor will not budge off the wheel hub

I've nailed with pb blaster already and whacked it with a rubber mallet but it still won't come off. Are there any other tricks to try?

quick follow up - is there a way to remove the thin metal shield behind the rotor without removing the rotor? It's blocking most of the area where I'd either grab or whack the thing. Also, the replacement rotors have a sixth hole in them that isn't plugged. The stock rotors had a rubber stopper inside this hole (they don't appear to be removable). Does it matter if this hole is not stopped up?

Coat the hub with never seize. The hole would be for access for emergency brake adjustments since the adjustment has to occur with the rotor on the hub. The rubber plug is to keep road trash from entering the emergency brake area. Next time get a bigger hammer.
