2017 Edge Changes

Recommended Posts

Searched for a thread, but didn't see anything on this topic. I'm not sure as to Ford's timing approach for the Edge model years (e.g. you can buy '17 Escape now), but has anyone heard of any changes coming to the 2017 Edge model? Fog lights, tow pkg for the sport maybe? Auto emergency braking? Considering making a purchase now for the Edge sport, but also don't need a new vehicle and can wait until well into the next model year.

Thanks in advance.

Ford doesn't follow any set timetables for releasing new model year vehicles. Whenever the vehicle is ready it gets released. Might be February, might be December. And it always gets the next calender year designation no matter when it appears (like the 2017 Escape).

Several websites offer their opinion based on people they have talked with:

Here's (supposedly) a pix of prototype:

As per rumor website, mostly the same as 2016, some new colors, new grill and front end design, different engine for Euro exports. (Link above). About what you would expect with a mid cycle design.

As one site put it, if your wondering if you should go with a 2026 or wait fir the 17, go with the 16 as no real advantage with the 17 (advanced sync stuff will be made available for the 16) and there will be a price increase. 18 is expected to start a new Cycle.
