2015 Edge SEL throttle body issue

Recommended Posts

Had my Edge for about 7 months when it would suddenly lose power, forcing me to pull over. 'Hill start assist not available' displayed along with the warning wrench. I was able to get it restarted and made it the 4 miles to my house. Drove to work the next day without issue so I thought maybe it wasn't going to repeat itself. Unfortunately the same thing happened 3 times while driving at lunch. After researching online I found that Ford has had problems with the throttle body for several years now and the only solution was to replace it. Had it towed in to the dealer and they replaced it. Haven't had any issues since then (almost a month now) but can't say I'm feeling very good about the fact that a brand new vehicle had the same issue that's been plaguing Ford vehicles for 5+ years. You'd think by now they'd have fixed it.
