Like me coming from a Nissan you also noticed the weak headlights.

Yep. Like I posted in my other thread, Consumer Reports didn't like the headlights either.

Now that the IIHS is going to start giving headlight ratings, perhaps the manufacturers will put more effort into headlight beam patterns.

I swapped halgon projectors for HID plug n play kit. Took an hour and lights are brighter. Lot of discussion on whether this is a good idea, I've seen people mention that the projector part number is the same for a titanium with HiD so I don't seem to see the issue.

Some of Ford's halogen projectors work very well with HID, most not so much.

A few more small gripes....

1. The backup camera seems to get covered in water when driving in the rain a lot easier than with my Rogue. I am going to see if some rain-x might help that.

2. The blind spot monitor system doesn't beep if I put my directional on with someone in my blind spot, the lights just flash, and they aren't terribly bright in the daytime.

Ive chalked backup cam up as a loss in the rain, same way on my f150, rain x will help in the sense you'll see beads instead of just a blurry camera, but it's still gonna get water sticking to it.

Come winter I got in the habit of when walking to the car wiping the lens with a finger. At least it's clear for a few minutes :)

OK, guess I won't waste my time with Rain-X then. Oh well....

I've had my '16 Edge for 6 months now and I can't help but really HATE the SYNC 3 system! :rant2: I was never able to make my phone properly with it and neither the dealer. Also there no easy to erase old addresses from the "Previous Adresses" menu, etc… Funny but the older SYNC in my '11 MKX was much more user friendly, my phone used to work in it and I could erase previous addresses as often as I wanted. I find it a big step backwards, not an improvement from the first generation SYNC!

I love sync 3. I've used many different systems and this is by far one of the best.

Sync 3 was one of the reasons why I ended up buying the Edge. Why do you need to erase previous addresses? And what kind of phone do you have?

If you hate Sync 3, I don't even want to know how badly you will hate Toyota's Entune system. I have that in my Toyota and it is the worst infortainment interface I have ever seen in my life. I have owned the previous Sync system as well in numerous vehicles and really enjoyed it. However I see Sync 3 leaps and bounds better even though it does have a learning curve to it. It is probably the best infortainment interface I have ever experienced

What phone do you have?
Here's a website that details which phones and carrier's will work with Sync 3.

That site is highly suspect. Both of my Samsung S6 phones have trouble working with Sync3. Trouble with phone contacts and I continuously have to un-pair them and then go through the process....again and again. I never had troubles with MFT or MLT. The dealer has looked at it 4 times now in my Edge....can't fix the issues.

It's not really because I have to delete them…but I liked having that option in my previous vehicle.

My phone is a Sonim XP 5520 which worked fine in my '11 MKX.

A what? I'm guessing that a new phone would solve your issues.

Your problem may be the Bluetooth version on your phone. Perhaps it can be updated

That phone is over 4 years old and got poor reviews to begin with. I'd say it's the phone and not Sync.

Hey Hermans,

If the dealer hasn't found a resolution to your issue, have them contact their Tech Hotline for further assistance.
