Tune up

I did new plugs on my 2007 yesterday. Not really bad but kind od a pain in the ass. The only surprise was the extra plug that needed to be released that was next to the hose in the back of the intake. I have lots of cuts on my hands form tight places.

The old plugs had been worn to a gap of 87 and the new ones are at 54 the car has 108,000 miles on it.

The car feels smoother and I will know if the gas mileage gets better

The worst part of the tune up was the pouring rain storm while I was doing it. I was soaked to the bone. I put the back 3 plugs in first so I could put the upper manifold back on start it up and put it back in the garage before changing the front 3. As soon as it was back in the garage the rain stopped.

It really wasn't that bad when I finally got a look at the plug and figured out how to release it. I think I wore out the "F" word.

A few weeks ago I posted my weekend story about fixing a sliding glass door on my deck. It also started raining and I put my hand into a present my dog left for me.

I need to start paying other people to fix my stuff.

Natures wrath LOL.

Final note on the tune-up. After a week of my normal driving the mileage has increased from just under 18 mpg to about 19.5 mpg this week. This is on a 24 mile back road route that is hilly and averages between 30 and 40 mph with no traffic and only a few stop signs. I'm happy with the results. I replaced the missing throttle body support screw this weekend. It was a 6mm screw. The length was about 3/4". I had to cut a 35mm length screw to length because I couldn't find the correct one. the next person to service this will need a 10mm socket and not an 8 mm. If they're going to do this job I think they will be able to figure it out.
