upurz1 Posted August 26, 2016 Report Share Posted August 26, 2016 I have a 2011 ford edge 3.5 fwd. We recently replaced the brakes front and rear pads. Ever since then a noise started appearing every time the car would sit over night and used the next morning on first take off. Noise is brief and then goes away for the rest of the day. I believe it has to do with the brakes .however took them apart and check everything seems to be ok. I have attached a video of the noise. Has someone experience the same noise before? https://youtu.be/zLC823jtx7M Also is best to mention that the e brakes is not working when engaged. macbwt Posted August 27, 2016 Report Share Posted August 27, 2016 (edited) No ABS light? Check the wheel sensor. Also is the Low Frequency Damper installed? When you replaced the brakes did you use the correct tool to turn the caliper plungers back into the caliper? Are the nipples on the pads seated into the caliper plunger correctly? Also are the pads in correctly and the guide clips installed correctly. This has occurred in the past so I am asking. Nice color. Then again I have the same model year and color. upurz1 Posted August 29, 2016 Author Report Share Posted August 29, 2016 Macbwt, Thanks for info.I took the brakes apart and inspected more carefully. i have notice on the brake pad nipples had some discoloration on it and notice the same thing on the caliper plunger. it looks like the nipple was hitting the side of the caliper plunger. I adjusted it plunger and reinstalled the brake pads and so far, no noise. Just wanted to give update on the noise coming from brake caliper. its almost a month later and no noise and parking brake now engages properly.
