bstoffan Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 We just bought a '16 Edge SEL. Unfortunately it did not come with the towing package. This wouldn't be for towing, but simply to haul bikes around as we have a truck already. I like the look and increased ground clearance of the factory Ford hitch (not aftermarket). I can buy the hitch from my local dealer. Has anyone installed a factory hitch themselves? Any tips or advise on the install, or trimming the bottom fascia would be appreciated. akirby Posted October 4, 2016 Report Share Posted October 4, 2016 The hitch isn't too expensive - but you also have to buy a new bumper cover and that is really expensive - over $1K total when I last checked. Unless you want to cut a hole in yours. An aftermarket hitch is not difficult to install and will sit just below the factory bumper. It works fine on my MKX and it only costs about $175.
