Way to disable instrument cluster boot up on entry?

Recommended Posts

Any way to disable the instrument cluster "pre" boot up upon opening of doors on 2016 Ford Edge?

Every time you open the door the cluster lights up and pre-boots for lack of a better term along with the 12 outlets...I just want my dome lights to come on.

Any suggestions?

I am in and out of the vehicle constantly. Getting samples out etc. just to name one example. Also the car is switching on accessory power for devices I use for work.

on and off, on and off, on and off

I just wish it would not waist its time booting up every time I open the door or hatch.

*waste.

I wouldn't worry about it, most of the time the beeps and boops are smarter than we are. I'd be worried about screwing something up if I tried to change something as complex as that.

I believe there is a way using ForScan. I'm on mobile and don't have a lot of a time but there is a spreadsheet on f150 forum. Just search forscan f150 on google and it should take u to the thread and spreadsheet is in first post. I swear I saw an IPC code that disables the ford blue splash screen.

Ok I had enough time to find the spreadsheet and I was right.

There is a way. In IPC module line 720-07-01 change the values to this "xxxx xxxx Bxxx". Only thing that needs to be changed is first digit in third box where it has the letter "B"

The description for this is literally what you are asking:

IPC Quick Boot (No Ford animation shows on cluster)

IPC = instrument panel cluster
