Hii Guys,

I have Ford Edge 2007 and i just repaired from 10 days the engine cooling as replace the water pump and some pipes and before one year i replace the oil cooler and radiator, also i change 6 injectors after i got the car it was move smoothly without any problems and suddenly engine light come up and when i check it, give P0020 CamShaft Postion Actuator, i changed the Camshaft sensors upon my garage advice at that time the engine light off for 2 days and come back again and when chick it the code is P0020 Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 2) .... Status-FF (Above Maximum Theshold). I return back to the garage and they didn't know what is it meaning.

Kindly advice what is the problem and what i should do?

By the way i regularly change the oil and use Total engine lubricant but last time the garage add .Zeal engine lubricant i don't hear about this lubricant before but the garage told me it's good.

Welcome Elsengaby, how many KMs do you have on your Edge? That's a lot of engine work! Did a garage do it or did you do it yourself?

Unplug the VCT solenoid connector and clean it out. Put some dielectric grease in the connector and firmly plug it back in.

What oil do you run in the engine? Since you say the garage added a different lubricant, maybe that IS the problem. I would change out the oil again, make sure there is no coolant in the oil, use Total lubricant, and see if the code goes away. Lubricants/additives can cause a lot of problems, so it is best to put in the best oil in the first place.

Also, did you change the VCT solenoids and phasers when the engine was opened up to change the water pump? Those would be the most likely reasons why this code was triggered. VCT solenoids are oil pressure actuated, and they have filters that can get clogged if the incorrect weight oil is used and/or the oil is not changed regularly.

Try doing a KAM reset to make the PCM relearn how the engine currently operates. This video shows you how to do a KAM reset:

KAM resets should be done after any electrical changes or disconnections (however small/short) if there continue to be problems.

Total oil is a good oil I used it in my 2008 Edge and ran it to 285,000 miles. With all that work some dirt may have entered the system and clogged the VCT. Was the cam phaser replaced? There have been some instances of cam phasers failing. Unfortunately this means another tear down may be needed.
