2013 Edge - How to - Fosgate powered 12" sub to the factory head unit

Recommended Posts

Good evening, everyone. I'm trying to figure out how to hook up a powered Rockford Fosgate 12" sub that I bought for my girlfriend and her Ford Edge as a Christmas present for her. I've tried searching Google and there seem to be these amplifier interface connectors that allow you to plug in the factory head unit to while providing a set of RCAs, presumably to hook up the powered sub with. But every one of these that I've found doesn't seem to be for the 2013 Edge. I don't know a whole lot about car stereos and such but finding some kind of adapter like this seemed easy enough for me to install on my own for her. Is there anything like this for the 2013 Edge? Or some kind of alternative method I could use that would be easy and practical enough for the layman? Thanks, everyone.

Just use the high level input and tap into the wiring at the factory amp, which is located right where you will be putting your aftermarket sub & amp, I'd assume.  It's super easy!! You're going to be right there anyways when you disconnect the factory sub, since you'll obviously no longer need it.  All it is doing is adding distortion to your system.
