MPG sits at an average of about 16.8, Seems to start slightly hard lately as well. Anyone have any bright ideas on what could be the issue here? WWWPerfA_ZN0W Posted December 20, 2016 Report Share Posted December 20, 2016 Somewhat early to have this issue! You can try unplugging and reseating the solenoid connectors. Then disconnect the battery for 30 minutes/clear the code. See if the code comes back. If it does, then at the very least both solenoids are likely to be needing replacement. macbwt Posted December 24, 2016 Report Share Posted December 24, 2016 Change the oil and go with an oil filter that is at least 25 micron or better filtration and a full synthetic 5W20 chose the type made from natural gas to get the best oil. Run that after resetting the DTC's If this does not correct the issue then new VCT's are in order as you can not with certainty clean them for re-use.
