ian whu Posted January 23, 2017 Report Share Posted January 23, 2017 hi guys, i have a thinkware 750 dashcam, front and rear. i had it in my mustang. so thought id put it in my edge. wired front up perfect, took about 30 mins, need two connections, live all the time and a switched live, for parking recording etc. now to the rear camera. any ideas how I can run the wire from headlining to the camera that will be stuck on rear window. Beezz Posted January 23, 2017 Report Share Posted January 23, 2017 Ive actually got the same camera, I ended up running the rear cable through the top part of the headliner above the windsheild, down/ behind the a pillar trim, underneath the door sills, and then along the floor (under the carpet or trim pieces) then up the rear door weatherstripping, through the c pillar trim and then out up to the inner trunk lid ( the camera wouldn't work properly on the rear window due to the angle) and then i stuck it onto the rear hatch trim with some adhesive. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

enigma-2 Posted January 28, 2017 Report Share Posted January 28, 2017 (edited) I use a harness wired into my mirror (MirrorTap) for my radar detector, turns on and off with the ignition. But that's 12 volt, not 5 volts. Everything in the mirror (dimming, speaker, etc.) runs on 12 volts as far as I know. Suppose you could tap 12 v.and use an in-line resistor to drop to 5 volts. t0lkman Posted February 2, 2017 Report Share Posted February 2, 2017 @enigma-2, I've done something similar, took 12V from the rain sensor and converted to 5V using the usb charger that came with the camera.
