Adding Bass

Recommended Posts

I was just wondering what, if anything you are doing for some more bottom end with the factory stereo? I have a 250 watt JL amp and 10" JL sub in a small box from another vehicle that I thought about installing in my wife's Edge, but she doesn't want to lose any room in the cargo area, not to mention spare tire access. I've been thinking now about JBL's 8" powered sub that might fit under a front seat. Does anyone here have any experience with it or something like it? Just looking for some options. I'm sure that replacing the factory door speakers would help quite a bit also. Thanks in advance.

Hey not sure if you decided on something, but just wanted to share my experience. I had this http://www.bestbuy.com/site/kicker-hideaway-8-subwoofer-with-enclosure-and-integrated-150w-amplifier-black/3526208.p?skuId=3526208for 2 weeks and returned it. It did add more bass, but not nearly enough to make a difference for $300. What I ended up with was http://www.bestbuy.com/site/kicker-cx-series-cxa6001-1200w-class-d-mono-amplifier-with-adjustable-kickeq-bass-boost-black/4781400.p?skuId=4781400 and this https://www1.crutchfield.com/p_206VCWC122/Kicker-44VCWC122.html?tp=112. WAY better bass than the 8". I know you said she was worried about taking up cargo space, but it's pretty compact and doesn't weigh too much to remove if you need added space for a trip. Hope this helps.
