nullreference Posted August 4, 2017 Report Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Guessing I have a bad rod bearing, do I need to remove the engine to take off the oil pan to get a look a the bearing? I know it's not the "correct" repair, but has anyone tried to replace a rod bearing to buy a little time before spending $2k-$3k on a used/rebuilt engine swap? nullreference Posted August 5, 2017 Author Report Share Posted August 5, 2017 Nope, unfortunately running without oil after an basic leak and before knowing about the oil, I was accelerating and felt "something" and now have what sounds like rod knocking when pressing the gas, but not while idling. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
