I was just wondering if the mats ( the all weather ones ) that come with an Edge are good enough for the winter or are weather tech mats are a must? Just looking to hear what everyone has been using.

It all depends on how much snow there is in your area… If there is little snow you might be ok with the original ones but if you live in an area which usually receives a lot of snow, then get the WeatherTechs…(I did…)

Just for a data point. I just purchased weathertechs for my 2012. Never had anything other than the OEM carpeted mats and they still look brand new.

Just finally decided to go with the liners as I want to pamper my ride for a few more years.

My understanding is the all weather mats were redesigned and "better" for MY 17 and up.  The ones for the 15/16 are useless.  Any pics of the newer ones by chance to compare to what a weathertech looks like?

They don't look to bad, I guess I will have to wait till tomorrow to see if they will work for the winter with the snow.

I was looking at the weather tech and $160 just for the front ones, I guess wait and see.

maxpider kagu mats for me. better looking than any other i've ever purchased (actually i posted up here about it a few months ago). The weathertech i had in my 4 runner warped after some time, and never fit right after that. the other thing i don't like is the plastic cheap look. these maxpider i have now look incredible and hose right off should you spill anything on there.

I have bought weather techs the last 4 new cars that I have owned. I went a whole new way this time, I bought Tuxmat that are made here in Toronto.

https://www.tuxmat.ca

Willing to try them out and see how they do. $225 for front and rear mats.

My mats just showed up, way better then weather tech mats or husky liners. These mats are better. Can't wait to get them in my Edge today.

Yeah not my cup of tea either. They look very...busy. But hey if you like them, that's all that matters!

The reason I got them was because they cover more then the other 2 liners and the clean up so much more easier.

I think each one could hold at least a gallon of water.

To each his own right..  I never liked the Weather Tech or factory all season mats because during the snow or rain, it just seems like I was just dragging water and slush in the car and it would just stay there.  That dirty and salty water would then create another set of problems with my shoes or pants.  In both my 08 and 11 Edge's, I had a set of carpeted all weather Catch-All mats that were molded and fit perfectly, even in the cargo area. When they got dirty, I just hosed them off, dried off overnight and popped them back in just like new.  I think the company went out of business. I tried to find them for my current cars, so disappointed. I think I was probably one of the few who appreciated them.
