Windshield replaced, now wipers go off.

Recommended Posts

Just had the windshould replaced on my 2016 edge sport and had some questions. They told us the car needed to be adjusted due to the new windshield for the camera and vehicle awareness. They said nothing about wipers. When we turn the car on, the wipers go off, but pretty crazy. In fact one broke completely off by turning on. Anyone explain or know the issue? Thank you.

What kind of vehicle awareness? I am not an expert, but this doesn't sound right. The camera(s?) is mounted on the windshield but shouldn't be affected by changing it. It's not like a new pair glasses that needs adjustment to. Makes me question whether they know what they're are doing.

There is actually a transparent sticky pad that is used to mount the rain sensor to the windshield. When removing the sensor it would probably get damaged & should be replaced.

But, is you wiper acting up only when it is on the auto position? If it is acting up when the switch is off, then it has nothing to do with the rain sensor.

This is what I mean with the pad: https://m.ebay.com/itm/201293056943
