DTC B1215 and P164D ??

Very likely rust/corrosion at the license plate lamp assembly. If there are 2 assemblies, replace them both, being sure to apply a light coating of dielectric grease prior to final installation. That should take care of the B1215 code ... permanently.

If your Edge is an AWD, then the P164D likely means that the PCM is missing the identification info for the RDU, and it needs to be programmed in.

thanks for the license plate asy info.....regarding the PCM missing the RDU ID info, is that going to affect driveability or operations? or can I just get it done next time in for service?
