Steering Wheel Options

Recommended Posts

I currently own a 2011 Edge and I have that the earlier Escapes Edge and Explorers all look like they share the same wheel. My question is would a new style Ford Explorer wheel fit I am really digging the color and they look very similar to my current wheel just a little updated.

As your question is one never asked before (probably never thought of before), it's unlikely anyone has ever tried it. Ford often makes small changes in the hidden areas. My guess is, they may look simular but who knows what's different inside. Your talking 7 years difference, different models of car, most likely different vendors. The new one has additional features like heated steering wheel & your 11 doesn't. It's possible they adopted a different clockspring or different wiring layout.

About the only way you can test is to go to a local recycling yard that has both and ask to examine both side-by-side.

A simpler way is to go to either Tire Rack or Discount Tire and search for wheels for not.  I think you will find that bolt pattern changed with the 2015 revisions.

Not for nothing, it is usually cheaper to buy aftermarket wheels than to try and buy Factory wheels

I believe he is asking about the steering wheel and not rims and tires.
