'11 Edge Sport vs. '10 SRX

Recommended Posts

So I've been waiting for my local dealer to get one of the new 2011 Edge Sports in (looks like it will be at least another month), and in my waiting starting looking at other cross overs. Today I stopped by and looked at 2010 Caddilac SRX Performance. They are really trying to move them off the lot, and would ultimately be around the same price as the proposed 2011 Edge Sport...

Any opinions out there? either way?

Does the SRX have a door keypad, Sync or MyTouch? That would decide it for me.

I test drove an SRX and while I liked it a great deal (I mean, it's a Caddilac!), I was very uncomfortable in the seat. It seemed as though it wrapped inward around me. I also felt I sat lower in the SRX than the Edge. I discovered that I could get so much more in the 2011 Edge, I decided to order one. I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Hope you find what's right for you.

I did the same comparison. I noticed a lot of used ones with only a few miles. This made me wonder about reliability. Check the SRX forum. Not alot of happy campers over there. I test drove one. My wife really liked it. The seat was not comfortable to me like Tony stated. I also felt like I sat lower and the engine was very slushy and non-responsive. It seemed underpowered. I drove the edge sport and I was sold. I pick it up on Friday.

I owned a 2010 srx I bought in feb I thought it was one of the worst and uncomfortable rideing vehicles I have owned, it was at the dealers for a number of annoying things for a total of 10 weeks at different times I finely decided to order a 2011 ford edge sport on oct.14th and it arrived 4 weeks later, the new edge is sooo much nicer and better riding than the srx I am thrilled with it.I have since put in hid headlights for a cost of $300.00 and also made the led strip in the front become daytime driving lights they come on every time I start the car it really looks cool.

My friends wife just bought a brand new srx, so when we got together for dinner recently we both swapped vehicles and took them out for test drives. As much as I like the styling of the cadillac, I really love my Sport and wouldn't give it up for any other suv. My wife completely agreed that she liked ours better, and despite what she said after driving the sport, my buddy told me at work the next day that if they had seen the edge sport earlier they probably wouldve bought that as well.

The positive feedback I get just solidifies my choice

The caddy is a nice vehicle and was on my short list but in the end it wasnt the right choice for me. I think its good enough though that it might very well be a better choice for some. Research and some tests drives should put things into perspective. If you have been looking at the srx a spin in a mkx might also be a good idea. The rx350 might also be worth a peek.

What connections did you make to get the LED bars to be on as daytime driving lights?

I owned a 2010 Cadillac SRX from Dec 2009 to just last week. Traded it in for a 2011 Ford Edge Limited, Silver with the 20" Chrome Clad Rims. Absolutely love it so far. The 2011 Ford Edge rides like a Cadillac should ride. My reason for saying this? I had tried for the past year to have my front struts replaced via warranty from GM/Cadillac. They replaced the struts twice and and both times the SRX rode really rough (with 20" rims) and thr struts made noises and thumping which was very irritating. I finally gave up on GM/Cadillac to make it right and was intrigued by the 2011 Ford Edge and think I will be very happy with my choice. Bye Bye Cadillac!!!
