Driver Door Ajar alert

08 SEL with 30K miles: This morning the driver door couldn't be opened from the outside and I had to pull the lever inside from the passenger seat (the other doors operate OK). When I started the engine, the "Driver Door Ajar" alert on the dash stayed lit. After I drove for about 15 minutes, I opened and shut my driver door and the :Driver Door Ajar" sign went out. This has never happened before - I was thinking since the temps dropped in the teens over night, could this be a temperature related issue? Does anyone know of this scenario happening? The problem of course is that the Edge will not allow the doors to lock while I'm driving with a "Door Ajar" alert lit.

I'm still under warranty and Ford said I would have to keep it overnight so the problem can be duplicated for them to look at.

Thanks for any suggestions -

Sounds like the latch froze - that's where the sensor is. I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes chronic or happens above freezing.
