  1. The only problem I have is when going around a curve on the freeway... the sensor will read the car in the NEXT lane & slow me down, when there's no one in front of me. Other than that... no worries.
  2. LOL... that's too funny... had I BOUGHT my Edge, I would've gone white platinum, as it would better hide stone chips & such... but since I leased, I decided to go for the red. I get comments all the time on how gorgeous the color is.
  3. Congrats... I went through the same thing... I really wanted a Sport, but after driving both, went for the Limited instead. Ride differences between the 20s & 22s were negligible to me... (but the tire cost wasn't) as was the power difference between the 3.5L & 3.7L engines. ... and there were a few options on the Limited that weren't available on the Sport. ... and the dealer said he could get me a slightly better deal on the Limited vs. the Sport. I went through CostCo's buying program... so, with no negotiating, I got my Ruby Red '13 Limited w/ pkg 302a & 20" wheels for $400 below invoice, plus the current rebates & incentives. Very easy, low-stress process. Could maybe (probably) do better, but have become so frustrated with the buying process- I just don't have the desire to haggle for hours & hours any more. But you're right... I DO like the HIDs... even tho the cutoff is a bit sharp for my tastes. The BLIS is nice... the adaptive cruise is interesting (tho seldom-used in L.A.)... the collision avoidance system scares the crap out of me at inopportune moments... and the cross-traffic alert works a little too well sometimes. But it's a beautiful machine... comfortable... quiet... and loads of gadgets to entertain/amuse me.
  4. interesting... my Zune HD has always sync'd up fine. Occasionally, it stubs its toe navigating through the menus, but overall, it's worked pretty good. Now granted, I don't keep it in the Edge full-time... (it's usually hooked up to my theater system), but it has always worked for me in the Edge. But yea... sux that microsoft stopped supporting the Zune... such a great platform, and no crappy itunes to deal with.
  5. none yet... but it's only been 3 months... fingers crossed! 2013 Ford Edge Limited, pkg 302a, 20" wheels, Ruby Red, Charcoal leather
  6. I've run Motorcraft synthetic blend in my cars for nearly 10 years... is only about $18 for a 5 quart jug at Walmart here... no big deal...
  7. my Vue wasn't the Redline... the redline package was just wheels & suspension (and a body kit)... no difference in power. The Honda 3.5L v6 was an outstanding engine... smooth, powerful, and economical. Need to get some better pics of "Ruby", but here she is...
  8. made a few changes to the fleet this year... sold my beloved '04 Saturn Vue V6 (81k miles)... and traded in my '05 Mustang GT 'vert (32k miles)... then picked up my '13 Edge Limited... but still have my 2k V10 SuperDuty 4x4 ... and of course, my weekend toy/mid-life crisis car... single with toys... that's me!

  10. Nice choice on the new ride... I'd be interested in the mudflaps, but for what it would cost to ship them, i'm probably better-off just buying them locally... :-(
  11. I'd had my '04 Saturn Vue for nearly 10 years, and was ready for something new. Knew I wanted to stick with a crossover, as I liked the versatility. The Saturn was great... right size, great visibility, comfortable, and the Honda V6 under the hood was smooth as silk with great power & mileage. But... the interior was very cheap & plasticky... and the road/wind noise was terrible. I wanted something nicer... and quieter. I considered the '13 Acura RDX, but that was about it. I had my heart set on an Edge. So... I picked up a '13 Edge Limited in Ruby Red with the charcoal leather interior... loaded with pkg 302a & the 20" wheels... exactly what I wanted... and I haven't been disappointed. The visibility could be better, but that's the price you pay for style. Am diggin all the toys to play with so far. The Sony audio system is pretty decent for a factory setup, and I like the fact that it recognizes my Zune HD... cover art goes right to the screen & Sync allows me to search for artists/songs at will. My phone (Droid MAXX) always pairs-up immediately... nice to read incoming texts whilst in motion. I guess my one gripe would be with Sirius. I NEVER had as much signal dropout with XM as I now do with Sirius... but overall, am very satisfied.
  12. totally diggin mine so far... I came out of an '04 Saturn Vue V6, & wanted to stick with a crossover, but a more comfortable crossover. Loved my Saturn... it was comfortable & practical... but very cheap & plasticky inside... and lots of wind/road noise. After 10 years & 82,000 miles, I was ready for something new. I leased a '13 Edge Limited back in October... ruby red, charcoal leather... fully loaded (package 302a with the 20" wheels). Had really wanted the Sport, but after driving both, the difference in power was negligible to me. Loved the 22" wheels on the Sport, but then started thinking about tire cost & higher possible incidence of flats. Plus, there were a few options on the Limited that were not available on the Sport. I'm actually surprised that I really like some of the options that I kinda had to take to get the ones I wanted. Thought heated seats were a waste in SoCal... but on a cool night, they feel SOOOO good... and heat up fast. The BLIS comes in handy- especially on the freeway at night with lights/reflections everywhere. The collision warning system isn't really calibrated to my liking, but it works. Haven't had a chance to use the adaptive cruise yet. I didn't really want the panoramic vista roof, but it's ok on the odd occasion I actually use it. The Sony audio system is pretty decent for a factory system, tho it tends to be source-dependent. Some Sirius stations sound great, others like crap. But my Zune sounds pretty good when pumped through the Sony. The signal dropout with Sirius is MUCH worse than when I had XM Radio a few years ago. The seats are comfortable, tho the bottom cushions are a bit long for someone with short thighs... wish I could lower the seat a bit more. Love the xenon headlights, tho the cutoff is pretty sharp. All the continual carping about the MFT & nav systems puzzle me... or maybe I just got lucky. Mine has performed flawlessly. My phone always sync's up immediately... MFT always recognizes my Zune HD, and Sync is capable of searching my Zune HD for songs/artists. The nav system has worked great, & found what I would consider to be obscure POI's when driving around L.A. That said... yes, at times it does feel a tad clunky & under-processored... and I occasionally have to stab the screen a few times, but overall, I'm very happy with it... and very happy with the Edge in general... it's just what I wanted. The 20" plasti-chrome wheels are a pain to keep clean, but gives me something to crab about. Always get compliments on the ruby red paint tho... it's GORGEOUS.
  13. ... cheap insurance/peace of mind, IMO... but I've always done my own oil changes at 3k intervals. I just sold my '04 Saturn Vue V6... had 82k on it & never a single problem with the engine. The inside of the tailpipe was as clean as the day I bought it. Is a 3k interval overkill? Probably, unless your vehicle usage is considered "severe service"... but I don't mind spending $25 a few times a year to keep my baby running right.
