My 2010 Edge suddenly failed to start. With the key out of the ignition, the security light on the dash flashes every few seconds as it always has. With the key in and ignition in the on position, the security light flashes rapidly - a few times/second - for 1 minute then it flashes a sequence of one flash, then about 2 seconds later six flashes and then repeats that sequence. I've seen posts here and across the internet on that 1-6 sequence and have tried a few of the recommendations for that including moving the shifter and trying to start in Neutral and also replacing a few parts, pulling parts from a salvage car including the ignition key sensor (immobilizer) and the in-car junction/fuse box (I think that's also the BCM and remote entry sensor). None of those changed anything at all. It's possible that those parts were damaged on the salvage car, but they don't show any signs of damage. Also, I have two OBD readers, but both report a connection error when I plug them in. The OBD port has power. Even so, I looked at the under-hood fuses - especially fuse 17 for the cigar lighter/power port - and they look and test fine. 1) Any ideas of what to evaluate next? 2) Does the OBD connection go dead if the car is in a security lockout condition? 3) Or, is the security lockout/light flashing possibly the result of the computer not being readable? 4) Are there any relays that could be involved with this? I can easily test the fuses, but relays are more of a trial and error situation. 5) I have the PCM (under hood fuse box) from the salvage car, but connecting it would be a long process since it doesn't have block connectors and the salvage yard made me pull all the fuses and relays, so, I'd have to connect all the wires and transfer the fuses and relays and I wanted to get the Forum's opinion on that being a possible solution before I try that. Thanks for any suggestions!

Well, my wife totaled her '08 Edge a couple weeks ago and we didn't replace it with another Edge of this generation, so I have two Drive Bright LED tail lights for sale. They have been absolutely wonderful for us and I just wanted to see someone else get some use out of them. I'm also sending the backup LED bulbs I bought with them. $150 shipped for the set. Same as the below: http://drivebright.com/home/shop/ford-edge-led-tail-light-set-lh-rh-complete-replacement-tail-light-assembly/

Hello edge community and enthusiasts. Im from puerto rico and i own a 2010 baby blue-ish sel ford edge. Got it as a gift and thought it could use manlyness, so i went ahead and plastidipped the grille, exhaust tips, rims, and 2 parts in the back. It looks way way better man, and my friend made a very good job with that plasti dip... 6 hours well spent. Future upgrades will be, hids, alpine or kenwood speakers, pirelli tires, tune and slight more engine work. Hope you like my edge ✌️

Hi everyone, brand new here. We will be purchasing my mother-in-laws babied 2010 SEL AWD in a few weeks. I would like to get the Ford factory roof rails and crossbars installed, but want to make sure that the Yakima box I already have been using on our Moutaineer will clear the rear hatch when opened. Our Moutaineer won't even do this, so I fear I may be out of luck seeing as the Edge has quite a bit less roof real estate. If someone has a 2010 with factory roof rack, can you measure the distance from the front roof rail (pushed all the way forward) to the hinge on the hatch? That should give me a good idea if my current box will fit with the hatch extended all the way up. Thanks!

I recently purchased a Hood Deflector for my 2010 Ford Edge SEL from my local Ford dealership, part #7T4Z-16C900-A. I got it the other day and went to installing it. Followed the directions to a "T", even used my torque screw driver to make sure I was only torquing the screws to 10 in/lbs as per the directions. Got all of the holes drilled and the screws installed. Went to shut my hood and it wouldn't shut. Open the hood to try and determine what was causing the issue and noticed that pretty much every single "tab" where the screws attached was spidered, some completly cracked with pieces that had fallen off. So I removed all of the screws and took off the deflector and in the process, basically every tab broke or spidered to the point where if I were to touch it it would break. I called the Dealership this morning to tell them about this and to see if I can get another one ordered, but I'm a little leary that this is going to be a re-occurring issue, not to mention that if that little impact from closing the hood/installing screws to 10 in/lbs cracks the plastic, what is the deflector going to do if a rock hits it. Anyways, I'm curious if this was just a fluke deal, maybe a plastic defect from the factory or if anybody has had any issues with the factory ford hood deflectors. Thanks in advance.

I just ordered a set of Chrome Door Handles (9T4Z-7822404-AA) for my 2010 Ford Edge SEL. Installation was a breeze, however, the front and rear door on the passenger side did not have the T20 Torx handle re-inforcement screw. Instead the front passenger door had a crosstip screw, and the rear passenger door had a 1/4" hex head screw. Well needless to say, neither one would tighten down enough to fully secure the bezel. So both bezels on the right side can be pulled out if you were to pull on them. I am curious if anybody knows what the factory re-enforcement screw size/pitch/length is? I'm hoping I can just run to the hardware store to pick up a couple SS screwes to use and not have to order two from Ford (not terribly expensive, but something like 1.25 a screw). I'm just hoping whoever the knucklehead was that put those in didn't strip the threads in the door, which in that case I guess I could probably drill and tap for a larger screw. Thanks in advance!

Remote Start for 2010 Edge (Aftermarket)
sterlinggrayxlt posted a topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
I have the info on OEM and Dealer installed options, but I was curious what the forum's input was on after market installations.... Basically, does anyone know if the aftermarket options will turn your heat/air on automatically and/or heated seats. What I've heard from installers is rather vague and is a "probably" answer but not for certain. Anyone have any examples of their luck? Our local aftermarket place quoted me $299 for the two fobs installed, but I wanted to make sure it'll include the climate control. What's the point of just the engine being turned on. We have a 2010 Limited Edge (no power lifegate)- 1 reply
