  1. My ABS kicks in when driving on flat, dry pavement. This has been happening more and more lately. No light comes on and no fault codes are present. The wheel speed sensors are generally all consistent with each other so I do not think it's one of them or a tone ring, though I am no expert. Attached is some ABS log data from my OBDlink MX+ at half second intervals. Some sensors do not seem to output at that rate but you can get the general picture. This was a 5 minute, 2 mile drive with two brief instances where the ABS was active (highlighted in the file). I would appreciate it if someone can take a look and see if anything stands out. The vehicle is a 2008 Edge AWD Limited with 188K. Thanks in advance! CSVLog_20200108_160846.csv
  2. I have a 2008 edge limited I purchased in May and now have the darndest thing happen with my liftgate. The first issue was when I would use any button to open the liftgate it would open, ding 3 times and then start to automatically close. It wouldn't do this all the time, but frequently. I read to try to reset it by opening and then closing manually. This would periodically work, but it always happened again. Now, however, the power feature is not working at all. Power liftgate is "on" from the instrument panel. When I push any of the buttons it "clicks" like it is enagaging but it never opens. I have to open it manually and it has a lot of resistance. Once manually opened it will not stay open it wants to fall back closed right away. My head has been in the way several times so needless to say I want to get this issue resolved ASAP.

    WTB 2" Hitch

Hello all. Been lurking for a little while but finally registered and am posting for the first time. I have a 2008 Edge and am looking for a receiver hitch for the back. We recently sold the car we used our bike rack with and don't have to or want to take our truck every time we want to take our bikes with us. Looking for a new or used receiver. Bonus if you're in AZ or SoCal as chances are high I could pick it up. Just throwing it out there and testing the waters. Thanks! Chad
  5. Well, my wife totaled her '08 Edge a couple weeks ago and we didn't replace it with another Edge of this generation, so I have two Drive Bright LED tail lights for sale. They have been absolutely wonderful for us and I just wanted to see someone else get some use out of them. I'm also sending the backup LED bulbs I bought with them. $150 shipped for the set. Same as the below: http://drivebright.com/home/shop/ford-edge-led-tail-light-set-lh-rh-complete-replacement-tail-light-assembly/
  6. Hi all, Sometimes while driving I hear a metal rattle noise coming from the front driver's side, sounds like it's under my steering or center console. It's pretty intermittent & doesn't happen every day, sometimes it's once a day or a few then a couple of drives before I hear it again. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? Steering and breaks feel normal.
  7. So I just bought this edge from my cousin. Her ex husband did a lot of cosmetic damage to the car. I need to replace the front and back bumper, grill, and right fender. Money is kind of tight right now so I want to go to a junk yard and get all the parts. I've been searching all around google for diagrams, photos and videos and can't find anything. I have no idea how to remove any of them so hopefully someone on the great world wide internet can help a young guy out. Thanks in advance

    Roof Molding Replacement

Hi everyone, Hope you all are having a great Saturday night. This is my first time posting in the forum, so hopefully I will get some response. I have a 2008 Edge SE (no Vista Roof, no rails), and the two black roof molding strips are cracked, and on one side the silver part is showing. Does anyone have a pair for sale (including the retainers)? To buy them new will cost me over $200.00, and I'd like to save some of my hard earned money. Also, is it hard to remove them? Thanks everyone!

    2008 SEL Mods?

I just picked up a 2008 Edge SEL with the panoramic sunroof, upgraded sound, and all leather. So far I really like the vehicle, but I'm wondering what mods I should do to it. Performance: Will a programmer help boost my MPG? I'm not a huge car guy so I just need to get something that I can plug in and say "give me more MPG" and be done with it, so if it will help, which one should I get? (I've lurked on the forum and got a little overwhelmed by all the info) Different Air Filter? From what I've read, some say it will help the performance of the vehicle, some say it doesn't. It would be nice to get a little bit of a boost from a stop light, but mostly looking for increased MPG Exterior: I will say that the headlights are not as bright as I would like them to be. I came from an '08 Escape, and feel like I could see a lot better at night with that than this. Would some new headlights help with that? Can a non-mechanical idiot like me install them? Mudflaps? I hate having snow all down the side of my vehicle and have had mudflaps on most of my vehicles. Any recommendations on ones that don't make the vehicle look stupid? Which vent visors should I get? The glue on or the ones that go in the window track? I've never had vent visors, but have always wanted some. Any recommendations on brands? Interior: The factory floor mats are shot, suggestions at a replacement? Cell Phone Holder: The one I had on the Escape clipped to the air vent, but it is too short for the vents on the edge. Anybody have any suggestions on a good one for the Edge for my iPhone 6? I was tempted to get one that goes in the cup holder, but I think my GF will kill me if I take away her cup holder. Are there other ones that clip on the vents that work with the Edge that you know of? Maybe something I haven't thought of? I know I don't like ones that suction cup to the windshield. Thanks in advance and I can't wait to hear from you! On a side note, I liked my Escape, but the Edge is way better. Sure, I lost 4x4 for AWD, but I don't go off roading, but I gained a TON of comfort, a MUCH smoother ride, and A LOT more storage.
  10. Hi all! I've had my 2008 Edge for 5 years and the compass has always worked fine. About a week ago I started getting a beep whenever I started the car and the OD area read "Compass Data Error." I did a bunch of look-ups on the internet to see if I could find a quick fix but nothing came up to help with the older model (this isn't the floating compass graphic, just a direction letter or letters next to the odometer). I got out my manual and followed the instructions for resetting the compass...I turned everything off (radio/fan/etc.)...I selected my zone (6)...I got to the calibrate by making slow circles bit... I had gone to an empty parking lot (away from power lines) to have room and I proceeded to make about 1,753 circles...in both directions...at slower and faster speeds...larger and smaller circles...going first to the left and then to the right...tried actually holding DOWN the reset button while making the circles...(yes...I started the calibration over each time after making 5 or 6 circles...the manual saying it would take up to 3 to calibrate). Cannot get it to complete calibration. I am assuming that my compass is "stuck" but I don't know where it is located to give it a "tap"...which would be my next thought. It's not the end of the world to not know in which direction I'm headed...but it IS annoying to get beeped at every time I turn on the car. Any help appreciated!!

    Rear wiper part numbers

Does anybody knows the part number for the rear wiper blade, normal OEM Ford rear wiper, the Motorcraft is slightly different, and the difference in cost is not that big either...or any good alternative to replace just the blade after...that is blade is pretty thick at the back side, and normal bladeswill not fit as intended... Ah...BTW 2008 model SEL....
  12. There's a few modifications I'd like to do to my Edge 1.) LED lights in the reflector for tail lights - basically what was done on this thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11875-ford-edge-led-taillight-reflector-conversion/ The user who made them hasn't been on in months and I was wondering if anyone had any insight as how to do this 2.) Change my DRLs from the low beam to my front fog lights - has anyone done this, I'd imagine it can't be that hard. Either rewiring or a trip to the dealership 3.) Projector retrofit http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/album.php?albumid=118&attachmentid=858 I contacted a retrofit company for a quote, but if anyone here can do them I'd appreciate it EDIT: 4.) Change dashboard/cluster lighting - I HATE the green it feels outdated. I was thinking keeping the red needles, white for the main parts of the gauges and blue for the other parts (km conversion, Hot/Cold End points, etc) Open to any comments/suggestions!

2008 EDGE on H&R Springs and 20" wheels
  14. Hey, just looking for opinions on components for my 08 limited. I have already gotten rid of the stock speakers and threw in two pairs of the kenwood kfc c6894ps for the front and rear doors. was wondering if i will hear a major difference with a decent pair of components. they are being powered by an alpine ktp-445u power pack which puts out 45w per channel rms. I still feel like its lacking a bit. also replaced the stock sub with the polk db840 dvc being powered by a rockford fosgate r250-1d. any thoughts on upgrading fronts, rears and the sub are appreciated. no boxes though, i need my storage area quite often. Thanks guys!

    Shifting question...

Good evening everyone. I have a 2008 3.5 AWD Ford Edge that recently crossed over the 100,000 mile mark. Recently i did a bit of service on it to include the following. Replaced the original waterpump for a ford original part. Replaced the oil with penzoil full synthethic after two engine flushes ( with a k&n filter after ) Drained and filled the tranny fluid with spec fluid ( 11 bottles of fluid ) Replaced the spark plugs to the .54 spec. ( All six plugs ) Put half a bottle of seafoam in the with the motor oil. ( Was this a good idea? ) Put in one bottle of seafoam in with the gas tank before a fill up. Also did a power steering fluid drain and refill. My question / issue that I have is Whenever I go to accelerate it starts to pull or "jerk" while its shifting. I cant really do any hard acceleration or quick take offs. If I dont do anything but a normal from a complete stop then I have this issue again and again. What could be the cause of this issue? What can I do to resolve it? I know this is very vague but Im not quite sure how to explain it and I hope that someone out there can help me?
