  1. Greetings folks, 2009 edge with intermittent charging issue • Two different new (not used) alternators have been installed by licensed shop in the last 3 weeks. Still have the intermittent charging issue The original alternator burned up on it while driving it and lost all power at the gas station I pulled in to. It ran until I shut it off and then nothing when trying to start it back up. • The only issue I have is the intermittent charging issue when the dash battery light comes on. Check engine light has never came on. Battery test perfect and is only about 11 months old. Voltage is right where it needs to be on both the battery and alternator when it's charging correctly. It can sit for as much as 15 or so minutes idling and charge perfect but then all of a sudden the battery light comes on and it's no longer charging. Whether it's sitting and idling or going down the road, it has this problem. All wiring and fuses have been checked but there were no issues. All wires connections were clean and in good shape. Feel free to ask for any additional details or I will add to this if something else comes to mind that I may have forgotten to mention. Could this possibly be a PCM / ECM issue? Anyone? Thank you in advance Randy

    Help. Signal Relay location. Help.

I can't locate the relay for my turn signals. Rear passenger turn signal is not blinking and front passer signal is blinking fast. I have checked the fuse and replaced all the bulbs. Anyone have a diagram or picture of where the relay is??? Manual doesn't show and I have taken enough parts off to look under the steering wheel but can't seem to find it. Any and all help is appreciated.
  3. Hi, New owner of 2009 Limited (got it 3 weeks back). In the Welcome forum, some of the senior members greeted me - really happy. Mine is FWD and built before 01/16/2009. While buying, I noticed that the coolant was very dirty. So, after buying, took the vehicle to FORD dealer and did the Coolant Flush. After driving home, I noticed that the dealer has put the Gold Coolant. I went back and checked with dealer about the Green Specialty coolant. Dealer says that they have NOT seen the green coolant in the last 20 years - it is either Gold or Orange. I asked about whether the gold will create any problem with heater core, etc.... (because that is why Ford changed to Green, right). Dealer is ready to put Green Coolant, but I have to decide and tell them. Dealer says that 09 built before 01/16/2009 came with Gold, so they put Gold. What do you all suggest - if Gold is problematic, then I will go with Dark Green specialty. Over the years, if Ford fixed the Gold coolant (not to create any corrosion issues), then I will leave the coolant as it is. If Gold is problematic, then I will go for the Dark Green Coolant. Please suggest and let me know which one to go with. [ I already changed Transmission fluid with Valvoline Maxlife ATF and changing the Steering fluid this weekend with the same Valvoline Maxlife ATF. Brake fluid looks very clear, so later ]. Sorry if this is a wrong place to put this topic and Thanks in advance for any input/suggestions. Regards.

  5. Well, my wife totaled her '08 Edge a couple weeks ago and we didn't replace it with another Edge of this generation, so I have two Drive Bright LED tail lights for sale. They have been absolutely wonderful for us and I just wanted to see someone else get some use out of them. I'm also sending the backup LED bulbs I bought with them. $150 shipped for the set. Same as the below: http://drivebright.com/home/shop/ford-edge-led-tail-light-set-lh-rh-complete-replacement-tail-light-assembly/
  6. Hi all! :D I purchased my 2009 Edge SEL AWD earlier this year. It is silver in color. Today a co-worker of mine informed me that she noticed the paint bubbling around the back passenger side tail light. So upon closer inspection I found multiple places where the paint has bubbled up and cracked/come off. It's mainly on the lip around the rear end tail lights and around the backup sensors. When I puchased my car I also purchased an extended warranty which I'll have to pull out later this afternoon and look over.... I guess my question is has anyone else had a problem with the paint doing this after only 4 years? It was a lease and rental vehicle before I got it, and had an average amount of miles (55k at 4 years old). Would this be something that would be covered under the extended warranty? I'll find out for sure later when I get off work and can look at my paperwork but I thought maybe someone else had gone through this as well. Also... anyone have any suggestions about things to clean the black cloth interior with? I let my mom borrow my car for 1 day (1 freaking day!) and when I got back in it the next morning there was a strange looking white stain on the driver seat near the center console (O_o). She says she has no idea what it could be (-_-) go figure. I got some cleaner but I'm afraid to use it because I don't want it to discolor the seat. I know I could do a test spot but... it still makes me nervous. Any suggestions? Thanks!
