  1. Hello all, I’ve been lurking in the forum for a few weeks now and finally made an account. Hoping to get some help from some forum experts here. We have a 2011 Ford Edge with 180000 miles. About to take it on our move to Italy and want all the kinks worked out before we go to a place with no ford support. Now, I’m a pilot by trade, some what mechanically inclined. I do spark plugs and oil regularly , understand the concepts of multimeters (never used one though) and have the Haynes manual for my car. symptoms: -cruise control works intermittently (20%) of the Time.. sometimes the cruise control turns on other times it does not. The other day it worked fine then I got gas and it didn’t work, I’ve also seen functionality on all the buttons during one ride. So one particular button doesn’t appear bad. -the ok button on left side of steering wheel control works maybe 1 out of 10 pushes -horn seems like it’s missing one one of the horns when I press it on the wheel -right side steering wheel control buttons totally operational a -left side steering wheel left/ right and up down seem functional. solutions: - replaces the left Side control button panels completely option 2 - based power wiring sounds like this could be a left clock spring failure. Maybe replace the clock spring . Could I confirm this with a multi meter ? questions: -I’m nervous about doing work with the airbag, I’ve read several iterations of precautions. Disconnect battery and negative as well, wait up to 30 minutes then you can start working on the wheel with no airbag issues. Also read to pull the fuse for the airbag, any other suggestions or things I’m missing. - if I go to replace the clock spring do I need to do a steering wheel alignment? Or if it aligns with the arrows it will automatically align? -based on the symptoms what do you suspect is wrong? How would I figure out if it’s the buttons or the clock spring ? - any other guides you’d recommend before doing this mx? Which tools do I need for the clock spring release and steering wheel bolts ? Thanks all! - Capcadet
  2. My Ford Edge was built in March 2011 and it's been 10 years and 2 months when the brake booster went out, whereas the brake booster warranty is for 10 years. Ford won't help. I called customer service. Additionally, ever since picking up my Edge from Mark Thomas Ford dealership repair shop for having both catalytic converters and spark plugs replaced, my Edge makes a high pitch whining noise like a turbo would, when exceeding roughly 3k RPMs. Doesn't make the noise when revving it while in park. Some say it could be the main crank bearing, some say other bearings such as water pump or alternator or ac compressor. My thought was transmission. Who knows!? Could "Large Leak Evap Emission" code related? Code P0455 135K miles.

  4. Just purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Sport. Unfortunately, due to the age of the vehicle Ford is no longer honoring the recall for the APIM. I am wanting to purchase a "new" APIM. I want the most recent revision of the APIM that Ford has released. Details of my vehicle. 2011 Sport FWD with heated seats, Sony, HD, Sirius, dual zone, ambient lighting, back up camera, and a Nav APIM. Thanks, Scott

  6. Just joined so I’m hoping I’m not posting in the wrong spot. 2011 Edge Limited AWD with all options. I don’t like a bright nav screen, so I have had the “Auto dim Manuel offset” on the third dash to the left, which is a comfortable brightness. The last few months, the brightness resets to as if I had it on the first dash to the left of 0. But the dash will still show the third one, even though it resets to brighter. This has been going on for months now. Any ideas? I’ve played with all the display settings and every night or other night I have this issue. And i I can’t seem to upload the video I wanted to. 15 seconds from an iPhone 7+ showing the issue
  7. I am using the SOLAR BA7 and found some erratic readings. SOLAR tech checked out this video and determined I am experiencing the failure of the voltage regulator on my 2011 Ford Edge. I am going to perform some more testing and will then have to remove the alternator and replace the regulator or maybe the whole alternator not sure at this point.
  8. I have a set of Oracle Halo lights for the 2011-2014 Ford Edge models. These are the plasma models so the ring is solid unlike the SMD models where each LED is visible, they are unopened and cost me $160, I can sell them and price match them for $25 under whatever the cheapest you can find with free shipping. I can also provide pics upon request!
  9. Hey there! My 2011 Edge Limited came with factory installed HID lighting with D3S bulbs. As many have noticed, the light output and color temperature is really lacking. I believe its 4300K. What do you recommend? Get an aftermarket HID kit or just purchase a replacement D3S bulb at 5000K or 6000K?

    Hi y'all! (2011 Edge)

Hey all, glad to find the forums! I've got a 2011 Edge, and as much as I've wanted to love it, I've run into issues I've never encountered with any previous car. This is a roughly five-year-old car, and within those five years I've already had most of the electronics fail: The side sensors have failed and needed replacement. The front sensor, and all of the cruise-control functions associated with it, has failed and needed replacement. One of the rear backup sensors has failed and needed replacement. The main cabin panel, controlling the audio, menus, and climate control, has needed complete replacement. Last month, the back-up camera itself failed. This has been five years of intermittent system failure, notwithstanding all of the design flaws in the onboard Microsoft Sync system, probably well-documented somewhere within the forums here. Other than to vent my bewildered frustration with this five-year-old car, I'm also here to find out if others have had such a conspicuously poor experience with the Ford Edge. The basic drive train and brakes have been reliable enough, and the electrical system itself has held up (again, this is not an old car by any means). I realized the Sync system was crazy-bad from the first weeks I owned the car. But when the electronic features began to fail outright, again and again, I've given up loving and defending the car. Anyone else?
  11. 2011 Ford Edge Limited stalled twice while my wife was driving approximately 30 MPH. The car is just out of warranty so we took it to our mechanic. He said he thinks it's a dirty mass airflow sensor. We had him clean the sensor and will see. I have my doubts that that caused the car to stall twice within one week. It seems like this could be a deadly problem and I wish Ford would address with a TSB or recall. If it stalls again it will be sold.. I can't have my wife and kids risk their lives driving a car that will stall at any time in traffic. Is this a widespread systemic problem with the Edge? Something Ford should or has already addressed?
  12. Calling all Edge Owners, Swaybars.com / ADDCO is canceling my order because they don't have a solid date as to when the Anti Sway Bars will be available for 2011 Edge SE. Does anyone know where I can buy Anti Sway bars? Any other manufactures? Any factory upgrades that will fit on my SE model? Any parts from other Ford Trucks or SUVs that I can use as an upgrade? Thank you in Advance!!!! Coucoui6, Out.

I have a 2011 Ford Edge. The battery died a few weeks ago and was replaced with a new one. Ever since then I've noticed my Navigation is not working. The GPS sign with an X shows on the lower left side and shows me stuck in the same location no matter where I go. I've tried the following to no avail.. 1. Took out the SD card and reinserted. 2. Tried performing the Eject / lower arrow combination buttons to bring up the gps calibration but just keeps scrolling the FM stations. I read this trick on a few other threads but have tried numerous times with the same results. 3. Unscrewed the antenna and screwed it back in. 4. Unhooked the negative battery cable.. waited 1o minutes and hooked it back in to reset. Any other suggestions or is a trip to the dealership the only other option ? Thank you !
  14. I have a pair of headlights from my 2011 ford edge limited which I no longer need because I replaced them with custom ones. These are extremely difficult to find in good condition. They are in great condition, normal wear and tear but there are no scratches to the lens or chrome. I did repair a tab on one of them... These do not come with the HIDs or ballasts, however the passenger side light still has a ballast attached but I am not sure if it works or not. Should fit 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 models. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.
  15. I am preparing to replace the original 20" Pirelli Scorpion STR's on my 2011 Edge and am curious what other owners are rolling with and what replacement tires they are recommending. I was considering the Bridgestone Ecopia's though the rep at a local tire store was recommending Yokahoma YK580's.
  16. A video on how to remove and install a caliper pin kit and the low frequency dampers on the rear calipers of the 2011 through 2014 Ford edge. This I believe is also on the 2015 and soon to be 2016 Ford Edge. Some good info for the DIY'er to prevent damage to the pins and low frequency dampers. This video was created from my mistakes that cost me some time and money until I learned how to perform this job properly.
  17. We have a 2011 Ford Edge Limited with My Ford Touch (No NAV). We have an active "in good standing" subscription to Sirius Radio. Today on the way to work the Sirius was working fine as it has been since we activated it. On the way home from work later in the afternoon the radio displays "Channel Unsubscribed please call....ESN: #########". We can see all of the presets, we can see what is playing on which ever channel we choose but we are not getting any audio (Sirius only, all other sources work fine). If we choose a different source then come back to Sirius we get that dialogue box again and you can hit "Cancel" or "Call"(if there is a phone paired) I also have a subscription under the same account in my 2011 Ford Focus SES and that is working fine. Sirius tried to send a signal but was unsuccessful. They stated that they are only responsible for sending a signal and not the factory radio itself (understandable). Has anyone ran across this issue? What is the fix outside of going to the dealership and spending tons of money to get this fixed?

My plastic blue oval ford emblem fell off. Of course its minor, but come on, it's hard to be proud when the name falls off. What have you all used to stick it back on? Just saying, come on Ford you can do better!
  19. Hello! I apologize if this has been brought up before, but I didn't see anything after a search. My Cruise Control flashes on and off after trying to set it. I do have adaptive cruise. I just bought this car, which is under a 30 day warranty. It has 21k miles and no red flags on the carfax report. I have a video of the issue, PM me if you would like to see it. Just seeing if anyone else has experienced this and what the solution is. Thanks!
  20. Hi guys, I'm new to the site and I am a new owner to a 2011 Edge Sport. I have researched and found out that the towing capacity is rated at 2000 pounds. I want to buy a 17-18ft boat, the first few that I have looked at weigh around 2300-2500 pounds, plus trailer, gas, battery and cargo weight. Would this be stupid to try to tow or would it be within the "limits"? I know the books say 2000 pounds maximum, but they build in a safety factor. I live in the midwest (not the mountains) and every tow would be around 50 miles. Braking distance is a problem, but defensive driving can reduce that. Overall, the towing weight would be around 3300 (fully loaded with boat, trailer, fuel, battery, cargo). Has anyone tried towing beyond the rated capacities of their edge? (sport edition or not) Do the 22" wheels factor in to the towing capacity?? Thanks all

Hey, everyone Just wanted to say this forum is great. Just got a 2011 Ford Edge Sport and I love it. Glad there is a place to share and get info on the ride.
  23. Hello, Just picked up a K&N Air Filter (model 33-2395) for my 2011 AWD Edge Limited. Has anyone had any issues getting the clamps back on after installing it? I don't want to force it and am wondering if I was sent a dud or if I need to apply more than reasonable force to get the clamps on. The filter itself is absolutely of different dimensions/thickness than the stock ford air filter. It drops in and appears to fit fine but I just can't get the clamps back on easily. Anyone have similar experiences? My K&N Air filter was a much easier install on my 2006 Fusion SE. Thanks, -Imm
  24. Can anyone tell me the model number of the Sony Head unit that is installed in the Ford Edge Limited for 2011 (12 speaker version)? I am interesting in adding an AMP for a speaker box in the rear of the vehicle and wondered if there are RCA jacks in the back. I thought I'd ask before tearing into it. Looks exactly like this. http://cdn.hightechdad.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/HTD-2012-Ford-Edge-52.jpg Thanks.
  25. I've got four (4) 22" chrome wheels from my 2011 Ford Edge Sport for sale along with four (4) tires and four (4) TPMS sensors. The tires have at least 80-85% tread life remaining. A couple of the wheels have some curb rash, seen in the pictures, but they're rock solid and have no structural defects. I replaced them with a winter setup and I prefer the wheels I replaced these with, otherwise I'd keep these as they're still very nice. Once polished in the summer, these things are gorgeous. PACKAGE-ONLY DEAL! I will not part these out. (4) - 22" Chrome Sport Wheels (OEM) (4) - Kumho Ecsta STX KL-12 265/40R22 106V Tires (4) - OEM Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors -- I have a scan tool that will reset the warning light on the dash when replacing wheels. I'll toss that in as well. ASKING $1500 PM or text 847-530-789(five) I can deliver within a 200 mile radius.
