Electronic rear tail gate will not stay open. I picked it up from a repair shop where they replaced a rear wheel bearing, when I opens the rear door it came back down and hit the guy on the head. It is still doing this, it had never happened befor yesterday?

I recently bought a used 2013 Ford Edge SEL. My rear wiper worked when I bought the vehicle, for about 3 days. Since then, it does not. The rear washer works the way it is supposed to. The front wipers work exactly as they are supposed to as well. I do NOT have rain sensing wipers. There are no DTCs related to the wipers/washers in any way. I have used Forscan to monitor the input/toggle of both the front and rear wiper/washer switches. They have the same values when toggled. I have tested the appropriate fuses and relay(s) in the BJB (#4 30A JCase fuse/Wipers, #64 20A MINI Fuse/Rear wiper motor, #55 Wiper relay, as well as #44 Rear washer relay and #82 15A MINI Fuse/Rear washer). I have replaced all fuses and relays with new ones. No change in functionality. I have used a multi-meter to check and test the voltage to the rear wiper motor wiring harness, and have gotten a consistent reading of 12.57 volts. I replaced the rear wiper motor. No change in functionality. I changed out to front wiper motor, on the off chance that the ground pulse signal was not being sent from it, to the rear motor. No change in functionality. I am at a loss. Is there a way in Forscan that I can force the rear wiper to cycle? Or, perhaps something else that I may not have thought of?

I have a 2013 Ford Edge Limited with around 100k kms on it, and it seems to be running fine. Though after refuelling, the car has trouble starting up, when turning on the car, the dash will come on but the wheel will remain frozen (as in I can't turn it), after attempting to turn on the car 2-3 times, it will eventually hit a turn on where you will hear the engine cranking for 15-20 seconds and it turns on normally after this. The issue then disappears till next refuel. Any advice is appreciated.

I just called the parts dept at my local ford dealer looking for Parking Brake shoes for my 2013 edge. The associate on the phone informed me that the 2013 edge uses the regular brake caliper and pads for the parking function. Can anyone confirm this me? Cant find anything to corroborate this after multiple google searches. Google has returned actual parts that fit that description. Thanks in advance

Hi, I (of course) was lucky enough to have the DOOR AJAR issue in my 2013 Ford Edge SE V6 AWD with Convenience Package. My question is ... can anyone out there tell me what wires in the door go to the open and close on the sensor so I can hook up another method (magnetic switch) that will work? OR if you know where to get a Wiring Diagram? Thanks In Advance!

Canadian 2013 Edge with DRL + HID
vexer posted a topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I'm going to apologize right off the bat if I suck at searching and couldn't find another post that answers this.. Has anyone in Canada, who has a 2013 edge with DRLs as the headlights, successfully installed HIDs that do not flicker when DRLs are active? Anyone in Canada with a 2013 edge install LED headlights (also function as DRLs during the day, full lights at night)? I'm looking around at a few places but most are located in the US and shipping costs are about half the cost of the kits. If I go through something like Amazon, they tend to be cheaper quality it seems. Any recommendations, tips, etc.. ? Thanks in advance! -
Suggestions/Opinions - 2011-2014 Edge Headlight Lighting
zayg1994 posted a topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Hey there! My 2011 Edge Limited came with factory installed HID lighting with D3S bulbs. As many have noticed, the light output and color temperature is really lacking. I believe its 4300K. What do you recommend? Get an aftermarket HID kit or just purchase a replacement D3S bulb at 5000K or 6000K?- 10 replies

Hey all, My fiance and I just picked up a 2013 Ford Edge Limited! It will be her main vehicle and we both really like it. The touchscreen and all the options is pretty impressive. Any suggestions for subtle mods? Thinking about doing a dark metallic gray front grille and wheels. As well as window tint. Looking forward to spending some time on the forum! Thanks! Oh and here's my car!

2011 Ford Edge bi xenon headlights ( Passenger & Driver side ) $250 each
splork posted a topic in Classifieds
I have a pair of headlights from my 2011 ford edge limited which I no longer need because I replaced them with custom ones. These are extremely difficult to find in good condition. They are in great condition, normal wear and tear but there are no scratches to the lens or chrome. I did repair a tab on one of them... These do not come with the HIDs or ballasts, however the passenger side light still has a ballast attached but I am not sure if it works or not. Should fit 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 models. If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me.- 2 replies

Hey Guys, Let me preface this by saying i'm sure this question gets asked a thousand times by idiots like me but I tried searching the forum for the right answer and couldn't find anything of use. Additionally I check the door jamb which directed me to the owners handbook which told me to speak to Ford... Not that helpful. I'm getting a Low Tire Pressure warning on the car this morning and I was just wondering what you would reccommend as the best PSI. Note that i'm in the Middle East so driving is purely on hot dusty roads and luckily for me petrol is cheap, so fuel economy is not a concern. Also as i'm driving the sport I just want to be sure that the PSI is correct and safe for the Low pro. I'm guessing around 35psi? would that suffice? Thanks!

Low Frequency Damper removal and installation with pin kits
macbwt posted a topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
A video on how to remove and install a caliper pin kit and the low frequency dampers on the rear calipers of the 2011 through 2014 Ford edge. This I believe is also on the 2015 and soon to be 2016 Ford Edge. Some good info for the DIY'er to prevent damage to the pins and low frequency dampers. This video was created from my mistakes that cost me some time and money until I learned how to perform this job properly. -
Dear Community, Notice today that the rear air flow out of the center armrest/storage area thing was no more than a wisper. Wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and or a way to increase flow to rear vents Thanks Nate

How is the stock Stereo System in the 2013 Ford Edge SEL?
sagedrummer posted a topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I am looking to purchase a used 2013 Ford Edge in the next few weeks and I like to have a good thumping sound system. I currently have a 2009 Ford Escape with the audiophile sound system with the subwoofer and dedicated power amp in the rear. The system isn't awesome but it was much better than the stock system. My question is whether I should hold out for the Limited to get the 12 speaker Sony System with subwoofer or if the stock 6 speaker system is good? I think after having a subwoofer in the back, going to car without one may be rough...however I don't want to have to pay another 1-2K for a limited if I could get an SEL? How much would it cost to upgrade the SEL stock system with an aftermarket system that would work with Sync System? -
Anyone know if the 2013 door panels are the same as 2012? I just got a 2013 Edge SEL, and the stock speakers are atrocious! The first order of business is swapping them out. Having trouble getting the molding off, not seeing snap covers for screws. I don't wanna break anything on my new car. Thanks!!

Installing Backup Camera in 2013 Edge SEL?
sagedrummer posted a topic in Accessories & Modifications
Hi I am looking at purchasing a 2013 Ford Edge Sel which has all the trim options I want besides the backup camera. It has the myford touch screen and sync and I am surprised it didn't have a backup camera. I want to find out if its even possible to buyOEM backup camera and have it work in the car? How will the car know to switch to the screen when in reverse, how to get thebackup distance lines? Is it just a software update that will need to be installed by the dealer after I install the camera? How much does the software update cost? The vehicle is at a good price and would be worth me spending up to $300 to get a backup camera installed but if it is going to be problematic I will just hold out for another Edge that has everything I need. I was washing the Edge last week and noticed cracking on the inner edge of the finished portion of the wheels, so I mentioned it to the service manager at the local dealer. He took photos and I just recieved a call saying Ford will be replacing all four wheels. Has anyone else had problems with the finish on the 22" Sport wheels? A littile history...I've had a few minor quality issues with the interior of the vehicle and was getting a bit disappointed with the vehicle but I'm pleased to see that Ford is standing behind it's product. I was starting to consider trading the Edge for another Jeep. I traded a Jeep SRT8 for the Edge. I knew I'd lose the power, but didn't expect such a difference in quality, fit and finish. However, I had serious mechanical problem with the Jeep, which was the reason I decided to move on.

Clunking when engine is cold, natural gas smell and grinding in reverse (2013 with only 9k miles)
synthsound posted a topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
I don't know where to start. This 2013 Ford Edge AWD vehicle is only driven 5 miles or less a day commuting to and from the train station. A few months back, i began experiencing the reported natural gas smell, which through my research has led me to believe there's certainly an issue with the PTU. On top of this, beginning two weeks ago (and whether or not related to PTU i dont know) for the first 5 mins of driving after starting cold, the car clunked as if there was a metal or plastic item being dragged under the front of the car car which was accompanied by a heaviness in the steering wheel, as if something big and heavy was trapped in the front wheel wells. Felt like an anvil moving with the wheel rotation is the best way i can describe it. Unfortunately, both the sound and wheel 'feeling' completely disappears by the time id get to the service station to diagnose. Fast forward to the beginning of last week, the clunking had largely subsided on cold start, however I could recreate a different grinding/squeaking/metal on metal sound by turning wheel all the way to the right and beginning to reverse. Sound came from front wheel wells only while moving. Mechanic told me it was likely the transaxle. Told me it was safe to drive while waiting for service date - continued using car to commute. As of this past weekend, if i put the car in reverse and drive faster than 1-2 mph or turn the wheel while reversing, ithe car makes what sounds like a large bang under the car (followed by a whirring, and the transmission appears to slip out momentarily and the smell of burning oil or transmission fluid fills the cabin (cant tell which). Pressing the gas at this stage only moved the car slightly (under strain), though you can hear the engine working. To me, this seems to be a transmission problem, but i dont know enough about the PTU to properly diagnose. Is it possible a transaxle issue led to this transmission problem so quickly, or is the transmission the cause of the front axle sounds? I dont know enough about cars to know.. only that none of these issue should be occurring on a brand new car with under 10k miles. I have a scheduled repair with my local ford dealer on Dec 9th (first day a courtesy car was available), and want to properly explain the issue so its fully fixed. As it stands, i wont let me wife drive the car for safety reasons, and parking in NYC without having use of reverse gear is like eating without food. I could really use your advise. Thanks much in advance!- 5 replies

When I purchased my 2013 Edge Sport last month, disappointed when I found out one of the stock 22" wheels was tweaked BAAD. Luckily the Dealership stood by the sale and replaced it ($1300!!! concern for down the road). While they ordered the wheel, loaned me a 2013 CTS. Confirmed my initial pleasure on my purchase. Smoother ride, much quicker takeoff, interior convenience (MFT) Soooo much better, not to mention interior room. Ford engineers thank you. I just need this one to last to 300,000 miles!!! Couldn't wait to get my car back! I see why everyone here is so passionate about these cars!

2013 head lights
triplenik posted a topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I am looking to add HID headlights to my 2013 Edge. I was planning on using DDM, however they do not carry the 9012 bulb. Is there another bulb that works the same without modification? -
Normal? 2013 Limited tow hitch protrudes awkwardly
charliegbravo posted a topic in Cargo, Hauling, Roof Racks & Towing
We have a 2013 Edge Limited AWD, with factory towing package. Just got a hitch, and was testing it out to see how things looked. It seems like the hitch protrudes from the towing "sleeve" (female part of the connection) more than I would expect. If I were to just insert the "male" end as far as it would go, the hole for the pin assembly obviously won't line up. It just seems awkward that there is so much metal that isn't in the "sleeve". See the picture attached... the hitch currently sticks out from about the red line, when I would think it would push in further so it reached the green line or more. Hope this makes sense... has anyone else had the same issue/concern? Appreciate any feedback! -
I close to pulling the trigger on a new 2013/14 Ford Edge Limited AWD. Looking at 302a option package, Ingot Silver OR White Platinum Tri-Coat White. Charcoal Black OR Medium Light Stone. I have a few questions. (1) The White Platinum Tri-Coat White looks to me like the plastic has a slightly different shade compared to the rest of the CUV. I'm referring to the bumpers and gas access panel in particular. Does this get worse with UV exposure? (2) Owners thought of Charcoal Black in the hot weather. (I'm in MO for a while. I will get back to NW PA but that is a year or more away). Does the Medium Light Stone discolor/yellow due to the sun or heated seats.Overall opinions of both of my interior choices. (3) I want 302a for collision warning with brake and a few other options. Can someone who has this option please provide some feedback? (4) Any advice would be appreciated. I know about the 750 and think it is best that we keep that off-line so Ford doesn't pull it. Thanks in advanced.
