Here is some pictures and details of my install of a 'raptor' grille on my 2015 Edge Sport. Click this link to go to my build log: Process: Jack up the car, remove the battery, headlight housings, and front wheels. Then start removing all the fasteners on the bottom of the bumper. Remove the fender liner fasteners. Pull the fender liners, disconnect the electrical connections on the driver side of the bumper. 5 connectors if you have the engine block heater, 4 if you don't. Remove the push pins on the intake cover. Detach the bumper by removing the 3 bolts on each side of the bumper where it meets the chassis. Remove the bolts holding the grille to the upper radiator/hood supports. Then carefully move the bumper. If you have the front view camera, you have to disconnect the washer and electrical connector before the bumper, grille, and chassis can be separated. Once you've got the bumper off the car, have fun with the clips that hold the grille onto the bumper. One clip is near a mounting tab for the wiring harness, be careful otherwise you may snap the grille at that point. There are 2 brackets screwed onto the grille that need to be transferred to the new grille The new grille snaps right into place, you can use the handle end of pliers to push on either side of the mounting tabs until you hear them click in. You can either remove the front camera and washer completely, or re mount them. I removed the washer, and remounted the camera between the O and the R. The view is obstructed, but still usable. The harness needs to be moved so it is less visible through the grille. It needs to slot in between the grille and bumper bar. You can then wire the lights on the grille if you wish. ​I'll get right to the point. We now have our FOURTH oil leak with our 2015 Edge with the EcoBoost engine. They will be replacing the oil pan for the second time. I have been told by the service manager that the pan is now made of a composite material rather than steel s in the past. Also, they no longer use gaskets, but rather squirt silicone around the edge of the pan. I was given a phone number for Ford's customer service and was greeted by someone in the Philippines (no surprise here). When I asked to speak to someone in the U.S. I was told there is no one there to help me. After this run around, I decided to return to my dealer in hopes of getting a direct number to someone at Ford HQ. I also have a 2013 F-150 that I am very satisfied with. ​Any suggestions would one welcomed.

Anyone have suggestions on how to minimize the speaker and door panel rattles on the 15+ edges. I have had the dealer take a look and their fix was to turn the bass and mid-range down to negative 3 (LLLLLLOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL) Everything rattles at 30% + volume with the sound settings all at zero (or neutral). Shit shouldn't rattle like this from the factory, with factory sound settings. In the spring I plan on tearing apart the door panels and stuffing sound deadening materials everywhere, and trying to rubber tape the speakers points of contact with surfaces etc.

So I have noticed more and more that when I have the transmission in sport and shift manually it shifts super hard. When downshifting the car lurches and makes abrupt jerks. When downshifting into first gear there is a loud clatter and an excessive lurch. It sounds so bad for the transmission. Another issue, the transmission takes f o r e v e r to shift from drive to reverse / reverse to drive. Many times when I shift and then push the gas nothing happens it feels like the clutch is slipping and gears are grinding until it finally engages. When I say forever I mean longer than 5 seconds from when you release the gear selector to pressing the gas. At certain points after a cold start (1-2 days) when I change from D-R or R-D and push the gas, the clutch slips and the car lunges and then once the clutch catches itself the car moves. I'll be seeing my dealer soon, however I wanted to see if anyone else has experience any similar issues. Update: Dealer #1 said there is no problem.

What is everyone using this winter? So the shop that I got some tinting done from accidentally cut into the glass on the rear hatch. Spoke with them already. The question is, should I get the windshield replaced or repaired? The cut can be seen and felt. Its pretty deep, on the outer edge of the glass. Insurance deductible is high for the shop and for myself, so any suggestions other than going through insurance would be great.

If I cross a solid line while going around a curve or sharp bend the lane keeping system pulls me even further over the line before deactivating from my steering effort. It sometimes pulls me over the line if the lane markings end while driving. Very odd behaviour, thankful I can turn the system completely off.

They claim only 59 vehicles are affected, but still the rest of us should be aware just in case. ABS and electronic brake distribution (EBD) remain fully functional and the EPB can be applied. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. Affected vehicles include certain 2015-16 Ford Edge vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, Feb. 9, 2015 to Aug. 12, 2016, which may have had software programmed during service between Aug. 6, 2016 and Sept. 28, 2016. I have two topics on here that I have posted about in the past 2 months since owning my 2015 Edge Titanium. (now has 23k miles) 1. My keys continue to malfunction.....The dealership has had to reprogram twice since I have owned the car. They had it for 2 weeks and I picked it up yesterday and when I went to leave the doors wouldn't open, no button on the key FOB worked (lock, unlock, alarm, etc.). The only way in his through my keypad using my 5 digit code. The car also will no start unless I put the key FOB into the slot in the compartment between the seats. The manager said they did reprogram and it had been working all week until then. 2. My build date is March 12, 2015. When I purchased my car I took it into my local dealership to check on the leak recall - 15B21.They said it had already been performed a different dealership. Weeks later I noticed my driver side floor board had been damp. So I took it back in. They had the car for 2 weeks and I just picked it up yesterday and they told me they cannot get it sealed all the way. They tried and tried and did a water test but water still leaks through. So they have started the process for a Buy back with Ford. They asked me to contact them next week to get an update, so that's what I'll do. My questions is.... how likely will Ford Buy this car back? Will this be a forever long process? Do you think my key issue is related to water leaking in and ruining some computer /sensor that controls the programming of my keys? I am nervous they wont buy it back because I came across this article on the internet saying the program will expire June 30, 2016 for the Reacquired Vehicle (RAV) Process -- EXACTLY a month ago from today!!! Picked up our 2015 Edge SEL 2 weeks ago (FIRST Ford ever in my garage). My wife loves it. Of course, I sold my toy so now I have a new Edge to play with. I want to put LED bulbs in the front turn signals and am wondering what the easiest procedure is to getting them out. I started taking the two 10mm bolts out on top, along with the plastic guide pin, but I stopped after I had them out because I couldn't figure out how to get the assembly out. Anyone have any advice for me? Thanks!

From inside, the driver pushes a button to activate the system; from outside the vehicle, fully assisted parking aid can be remotely activated, allowing customers to wait until the vehicle has pulled out of a tight parking spot before entering. Using similar sensor and automated vehicle control technology, Ford has also begun a research project designed to refine advanced obstacle avoidance systems. In this case, the research and development vehicle is able to issue warnings if it detects slow-moving or stationary obstacles in the same lane ahead. If the driver fails to steer or brake following the warnings, the system will automatically steer and brake the vehicle to avoid a collision. Adaptive steering, another new technology from Ford featured on Edge Concept, makes steering at low speeds dramatically easier, and steering in all conditions feel more confident and engaging. The technology, which builds on Ford’s electric power-assisted steering system, controls the relationship between how much the driver turns the wheel and how much the road wheels turn. This means that low-speed steering – such as pulling into or out of a parking space – requires much less turning of the wheel. Tomorrow’s technology available today Developing technology that can help people around the world feel more confident and secure is a high priority for Ford. Ford Edge Concept features many of the automated driver-assist technologies – the building blocks to fully automated vehicles of the future – that the company offers on its global products today. These include: Active park assist, which can ease the stress of parallel parking by using sensors and the steering system to guide a vehicle into a parking spot; the driver controls the gas and brake pedals. Available on 12 Ford models today Lane-Keeping System, which uses a forward-facing camera that can scan the road surface for lane markings. The system can evaluate if the vehicle is drifting out of its lane and then alert the driver by vibrating the steering wheel. If the driver does not respond to the vibrations, the system provides steering torque to nudge the vehicle back toward the center of the lane. Available on 11 Ford models today Adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, which uses radar to detect moving vehicles immediately ahead, and can modify cruising speed if necessary. Available on 10 Ford models today Blind Spot Information System, which uses radar sensors in the rear corners that monitor the spaces next to and just behind the vehicle. On the road, these sensors trigger a warning light in the mirror when there is another vehicle in the driver’s blind spot. Available on 13 Ford models today Sleek, athletic exterior design defines Ford Edge Concept The technologies in the Ford Edge Concept complement the vehicle’s exterior design, which is carefully sculpted, fluid and athletic. The side view is highlighted by a D-pillar line that comes down the rail, takes a jog and returns. Strong shoulders on Ford Edge Concept add to the feel and appearance of a runner in the starting blocks. The rearward slope of the grille influences the shape of the hood, which is both muscular and more compact. In a unique execution, the three-bar grille is connected to LED headlamps in a premium fashion. To aid the fuel efficiency of a next-generation EcoBoost® engine with start-stop technology, the Edge Concept has a new high-tech application of Active Grille Shutters. The shutters automatically open and close to maintain ideal engine operating temperature and maximize aerodynamic efficiency. Ford's Next-Generation Edge Will Leap Ahead of the Competition Daniel Miller / Fool.com Ford Edge Forum - Ford gets a lot of credit these days for its incredible business turnaround, and rightfully so. But I don't believe the company receives enough credit in how it's succeeded in designing one vehicle hit after another. CEO Alan Mulally and his team's change in strategy included designing new cars with aggressive styling, more technology and safety features, and better fuel economy -- it's worked like a charm. At this week's Los Angeles Auto Show, Ford unveiled its new Edge Concept, which will probably be very similar to the production Edge seen in 2015 as a 2016 model -- and I think it will set the model's record sales in the U.S. when it's launched.
