  1. 2016 Ford Edge Titanium 2.0 Ecoboost AC issue. Have a weird issue since I started using the AC again. When I shut off the AC I get a musty smell for a few minutes afterward. I did notice that there is no water dripping below the car when I park after running the AC. Before it used to leak a damn river. I also don't notice any moisture inside the car. So obviously the evaporator core drain is plugged,. I just brought it to the dealer today, they wanted to do the foam treatment at a cost of $225. With only 20k on the car I would think it would be covered as a bumper to bumper item, but I am informed it isn't. They did blow the drain out for me free of charge and have not used the AC yet but when they showed me where it was I was kind of amazed it was not on the underside of the car. The drain is on the firewall just behind the oil dipstick. My thought is it's above the core. Why would Ford put the drain above the core? Seems odd. In any event, has anyone ever cleared the evaporator core drain? If so was it on the firewall in the location stated? I honestly thought it was or should be under the car. Either way they were telling me they need to drill a hole in my housing to foam the AC unit but all the video's I have ever seen, they either run a line through the drain or open the filter compartment behind the glove box then run the hose in that way. I figure it's easy enough to do my self. I had tried the Lysol method but maybe I was too timid and didn't spray enough in the intake to work. As it was fine for a week then the smell came back. Either way if I can't get Ford to fess up and fix it under warranty then I will probably have an AC place do the foam treatment or just bite the bullet and have the Dealer do it, but I would want reassurance from them that it's fixed and not something I am going to have to do with this car for the rest of the time I own it. Any suggestions ideas? Has anyone else serviced the AC vents in the 2016 Edge? I see a lot for the 2007 thru 2013. I just don't want to spend all spring and summer smelling the funk from the AC. Thanks in advance. I can post a pic of the drain if anyone is curious.
  2. So I have noticed more and more that when I have the transmission in sport and shift manually it shifts super hard. When downshifting the car lurches and makes abrupt jerks. When downshifting into first gear there is a loud clatter and an excessive lurch. It sounds so bad for the transmission. Another issue, the transmission takes f o r e v e r to shift from drive to reverse / reverse to drive. Many times when I shift and then push the gas nothing happens it feels like the clutch is slipping and gears are grinding until it finally engages. When I say forever I mean longer than 5 seconds from when you release the gear selector to pressing the gas. At certain points after a cold start (1-2 days) when I change from D-R or R-D and push the gas, the clutch slips and the car lunges and then once the clutch catches itself the car moves. I'll be seeing my dealer soon, however I wanted to see if anyone else has experience any similar issues. Update: Dealer #1 said there is no problem.
  3. If I cross a solid line while going around a curve or sharp bend the lane keeping system pulls me even further over the line before deactivating from my steering effort. It sometimes pulls me over the line if the lane markings end while driving. Very odd behaviour, thankful I can turn the system completely off.
  4. They claim only 59 vehicles are affected, but still the rest of us should be aware just in case. FROM FORD: "Ford issues safety compliance recall for certain 2015-16 Ford Edge vehicles to update antilock braking system (ABS) modules Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 60 2015-16 Ford Edge vehicles to update antilock braking system (ABS) modules. Incorrect ABS module software may have been loaded into some vehicles when they were in for service. The incorrect software could disable electronic stability control (ESC), engine torque control, traction control (T/C), the warning lamp/indicator, the electronic parking brake (EPB) light and the EPB drive-away release function. ABS and electronic brake distribution (EBD) remain fully functional and the EPB can be applied. Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. Affected vehicles include certain 2015-16 Ford Edge vehicles built at Oakville Assembly Plant, Feb. 9, 2015 to Aug. 12, 2016, which may have had software programmed during service between Aug. 6, 2016 and Sept. 28, 2016. There are approximately 59 vehicles affected including 53 in the United States, three in Canada and two in Mexico" http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM542567/RMISC-16V733-8204.pdf http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM545509/RCMN-16V733-0260.pdf http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM542566/RCMN-16V733-4333.pdf http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM542683/RCAK-16V733-1725.pdf http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM541457/RCLRPT-16V733-5077.PDF
  5. Hi everyone, I am very interested in the new 2016 ford edge, especially the SYNC3 system attracts me a lot. I searched the inventory of my local dealers (Houston, TX), there're not a lot of 2016 edges but instead lots of 2015s. Typically other makes will be selling 2016 models at this time of year, and I really didn't follow Ford news a lot since recently. Does anyone know when will we be able to find 2016 edge in stock in huge amount at dealers? Thanks a lot!
