Hey folks Iv'e been having issues with my 2015 Ford Edge 3.5L AWD. Every once in a while I get a pop up on the screen saying "Hill Climb Assist has been Disabled" when this happens the vehicle has trouble accelerating. It goes away when I cycle the key. I myself would normally live with it but my wife drives the vehicle with my kids and it is unsafe. Does anybody know what it may be? the dealership has been unhelpful diagnosing.

Can someone provide more details on a "13M01" Field Service Action? Was at the dealer yesterday for service & noticed on one of the reports (OASIS, I think) among the outstanding Field Service Actions a "13M01", couldn't read the complete title, but was something like "Certain 2007 through 2012 model year Edge & MKX vehicles sold in some Middle East markets Extended Coverage on Power Transfer Unit". Would appreciate more details on this issue. Thanks.

2015 thru 2018 Front Bumper Bulb Size
th.holy.ghst posted a topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
Hi there Everyone. I'm new to the forum. I'm from South Texas and I own a 2015 Edge SEL. Thanks for having me. Question: Does anyone have a clue what bulb size is the Front bumper Daytime Running Lights aka "Foglights" or as Parts Ford Rep stated Side markers. The Rep could not tell me because she stated it wasn't noted cause they only sell the entire assembly. I do plan on checking it myself when I have time. Just thought I'd ask before finding the time to get my hands dirty. I have included a picture below of what I am in search for. Btw, that is not my Edge on the photo. Thanks!!- 6 replies

2013 Edge Limited 3.5L AWD Fuse Box Questions
J. F. Cunningham, Jr. posted a topic in Accessories & Modifications
Does anyone know the intended function of the available/empty fuse ports in the engine compartment fuse box and the passenger compartment fuse box? In other words, can I add physical features (for example, auto fold side mirrors or one touch non-driver auto window door modules) and get them to properly function by first adding fuses in specific empty ports? Thanks in advance. š- 4 replies

Ford Edge Preventative Maintenance Schedule
DontTellMyWife posted a topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Hi guy, I'm new this forum as a member, but have used it quite a bit over the last 6 months. Really great information and resources here. I wanted to post a maintenance schedule that I've gathered from this forum and others to put it in a nice and easy table. Long story short, I wanted to contribute to something that is printable. That being said, this is what I've gathered. 10k 20k 30k 40k 50k 60k 70k 80k 90k 100k 110k 120k 130k 140k 150k Engine Oil and Filter Change X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X Tire Rotation X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X Engine Air Filter Replace X X X X X Cabin Air Filter Replace X X X X X X X Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Fluid Change X X X X X X X Coolant Flush/Fill X X X Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Flush/Fill X X X X X Rear Differential (RDU) Flush/Fill X X X Power Steering Fluid Suck/Refill X X X Brake Fluid Change X X X Replace accessory drive belts (if not replaced) X X Replace Platinum Spark Plugs X From this standpoint, and I know this can be a loaded question. I'm considering a 2017 Edge SE AWD 2.0 Engine. No real upgrades, Pretty Basic Certified Pre-Owned. 21K miles. Previously I had a '10 Edge SEL 6 cyl. Any known issues with the 17 or the AWD version I should be aware of? Thanks

Hi, I have 2008 Lincoln MKX with 136k miles. There is a slipping and jerking in transmission when it changes from 1,2,3 and 4. When I stay at constant speed 30M/h it can be clear and it lets the car to shake a little bit and that always happens. After reaching 60M/h the slipping stopped. In parallel there is a whining or whooshing sound increasing with acceleration over 30M/h and increased with speed (It sounds like airplane engine) I have recently changed the PTU at Ford dealer because of leak issue which costs $1800 but that did not solve the problem. I asked them to check maybe there is a misfire but they did a computer test and no misfire problem appears. The only thing I am thinking about now is to change the TSS and OSS sensors. It will cost me $600 but there is no guarantee that this will fix the problem. Other option is to change the whole transmission unit which will cost $2500 and I do not have budget for that. Please tell me what it could be the problem? Regards,

I picked up a CPO 2014 Edge SEL AWD last week. ODO had 3700 miles. I've only driven about 400 miles. But I'm stunned that I'm only averaging 15mpg in mixed driving. I did about 180 miles of highway driving today and averaged just under 20mpg highway. Now I realize my sample isn't small, it's tiny. I'd like to see what I'm averaging after 3,000 miles. I also realize the 18/25/21 are EPA estimates and driving conditions vary. But my combined avg is off by almost 30%. My highway average is almost 25% off. In the 2 weeks prior to the Edge I was renting a 2015 Dodge Ram Big Horn with a 5.7L Hemi V8. I drove a little over 1000 miles in 2 weeks and averaged around 16.5mpg combined. Is the 3.5L in the Edge that much of a gas guzzler? Also, what does your miles to empty indicator read after you've filled up? Mine says about 260 miles. I thought that was odd too. Your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks,

I've recently purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Limited AWD and the car itself i really like, but, the AWD is really acting strange. My parents own a 2012 MKX AWD and it goes through snow and ice with no issues. The Edge, on the other hand seems to be really squirrely. When I purchased it, I drove it on dry ground and it handled and drove great. When I drive it on roads that are the least bit slick, the back end feels like it is going to go around on me. I have tried turning traction control off, and it didn't seem to make that much of a difference. When I purchased it, the tires on front were newer than the ones on the rear, so, I thought that was the issue, so I replaced all 4 with new. Thought problem was fixed, until this morning. I was able to drive a whopping 30mph before things went crazy. I've driven rear wheel drive vehicles (trucks and Mustangs) for 40 years, but, this is kind of insane. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, I want to say thank you for the wealth of information that is on this forum. I've been reading through some topics and I plan to continue doing so until I find a resolution. The reason for this post is to get some advice specific to my problem, so here goes. We've had our edge for about a year now and It has been leaking from the PTU for some time. (not sure how long). It is bad enough that we have a small puddle in the spot where we park in our garage. When I saw the spot I did some preliminary research and knew about some of the PTU issues with these cars, but now I think I'm at a cross roads where I HAVE to do something. We've had issues with a loud clunking noise when going into reverse and at time while accelerating onto the interstate. Yesterday her car wouldn't crank because the battery terminal was loose. I'm sure that is purely coincidental, but after I came and tightened it up for her and got her headed home, the transmission started to slip. This is especially bad around 20-25MPH and is fairly consistent. I've read about some sensor issues that may cause issues, but I'm lost on where to start. I know financially I can't spend thousands on a fix for this thing especially if I can't pin point the problem. That's where I'm hoping this community will help point me in the right direction. If the PTU is bad could it be causing the trans to slip? Are there known internal issues with the transmission that might cause something like this? Please help!

I have a 2011 Edge with a bad Smell coming from engine bay. It smells the most around the front driver side wheel well. This smell comes in through the vents if the heat is on during traffic stops. Kind of like a natural gas/propane/rotten egg smell. I've read it could be the Cats but the smell isn't emitting from the back tailpipe. It also happens randomly. Started 2 weeks ago and would happen a couple times during an hour commute, now I am getting the smell even at idle letting the vehicle warmup. When it started I was at a red light, heard a faint sound come from the engine then got a CEL P0455 large evap leak. Read it's probably a loose cap/ez fuel flap jam cleaned it out with compressed air, reset code and nothing has popped back up since. I've checked the purge valve, no vacuum when no power is connected. I've checked the PTU with no leaks detected. Even had a camera take pictures of the top of the unit to spot the puking vent, again nothing. I've tried a higher octane fuel. I've put in a bottle of fuel treatment, no luck. I've got a scanner have ran tests on Torque with no problems that I can see. Just seeing if anyone has some advice/experience with this. I'd just like to see if I can get a better idea of what I can check for. Dealer wants 140$ just to look at it ?? I'll see if a local garage has a smoke test, if the evap leak and this smell are in common.

Bang and rattle when shifting out of park on incline
Filtercharged07 posted a topic in All Wheel Drive (AWD)
07 Edge 3.5L AWD 127k miles When I have the Edge parked on an incline and shift out of park, the load dissipates and a loud "clunk" is heard as usual when reverse engages. However, this clunk continues to reverberate sometimes until i move off of the incline. It's almost like a tinny rattling sound, like something is bouncing around the front end of the vehicle once the transmission is in gear. The transmission also makes a strange sound in reverse, like a very quiet ticking when backing up an incline.- 4 replies

Buying a 2016 Edge - wavering between the Titanium and the Sport
minervadreaming posted a topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Hi everyone, First post here, but I've done a lot of browsing over the last weeks! I'm going to be graduating into the Ford Edge family soon. I was going to get a 2015, but after actually using the Sync 3 recently I've decided that it's worth jumping into a 2016 instead. However, I'm very much wavering between the Titanium FWD and the Sport. Advantages in the Titanium, as I see them: 2.0L v4 turbo engine drives very similarly to the v6 that is available outside of the Sport, and beats the Sport by a ~4mpg on average, especially since they've done away with FWD on the 2016 sport. Cost savings of several thousand dollars Very comfortable ride Advantages in the Sport: More fun ride Better in inclement weather I like the trim/look better My use case: 99% city driving, lots of freeways (los angeles area)Is there anything that I'm not thinking of, here? Any recommendations from you Edge vets? Thanks!!! -

I recently installed a filter minder in my Ford Edge. 1st you will find these on trucks mostly and diesels. I installed my filter minder for the purpose of knowing when the filter is actually no longer performing. This means the air flow to the engine has been restricted and is very dirty or clogged. You can not tell the filter is not working properly by just looking at it and 99 percent of us look at our filters and change them just on observation and not data. This device provides a visual for you to actually see when your filter needs to be changed. I paid for this device so it is not a paid advertisement. It is because I drive 60K miles a year and I am tired of the quick lube places trying to upsell an air filter because it looks dirty. This device will pay for it's self just by not having to purchase so many air filters because they look dirty. Save some money.

Replacing original 20" Pirelli Scorpion STR Tires...what do you recommend?
tmanski posted a topic in 2011 Edge & MKX
I am preparing to replace the original 20" Pirelli Scorpion STR's on my 2011 Edge and am curious what other owners are rolling with and what replacement tires they are recommending. I was considering the Bridgestone Ecopia's though the rep at a local tire store was recommending Yokahoma YK580's.
