Canadian 2013 Edge with DRL + HID

I'm going to apologize right off the bat if I suck at searching and couldn't find another post that answers this.. Has anyone in Canada, who has a 2013 edge with DRLs as the headlights, successfully installed HIDs that do not flicker when DRLs are active? Anyone in Canada with a 2013 edge install LED headlights (also function as DRLs during the day, full lights at night)? I'm looking around at a few places but most are located in the US and shipping costs are about half the cost of the kits. If I go through something like Amazon, they tend to be cheaper quality it seems. Any recommendations, tips, etc.. ? Thanks in advance! -

After a few days of research and thanks to an excellent write up from the G2 fusion forum, I was able to add Daytime Lights option to the left instrument cluster. Hello All, Another new 2016 owner reporting in. We just purchased a 2016 Silver Ingot Titanium Edge 2.0l (302A & Driver Assist too), which will be the wife’s daily driver. So far loving the vehicle, although we felt like we had to compromise on the ebony interior. Both my wife and I were adamant that we would never buy a car with an all-black interior. Every rental car I’ve driven recently had all black interiors and I always got frustrated with trying to find dropped items, etc. It felt like driving a cave around. I’m thinking about getting gray fitted floor mats to help with this specific concern since some kind of weather-proof mats are a must out here during a wet Western Washington winter anyhow. The huge sunroof helps too. Maybe our eyes are just getting old. We almost fell in love with the Murano tan interior, but the Edge won out in the end. After spending some time looking over these forums, I’m anxious about the possibilities of finding water in the foot wells or having the adaptive steering fail. Hopefully these are rare issues with Edges built on or after 3/29/2016 (our build date). By the way— it was nice finding such an informative and helpful group of people contributing to this forum. I’m already thinking of trying to find a way to make better use of the daytime running light setup. I wonder if the reflector portion of the headlight assembly can be repurposed to be a second set of high beams that are activated with the OEM high beam setup (or even separately with a dedicated added control) However, I would not want to burn out any control module outputs or relays with whatever modifications/additions that would surely be necessary to do this. It just seems like a shame to waste that portion of the headlight assembly on DRLs that only come on at times when the signature lights already serve the same purpose. My wife and I spent some time in a parking lot with a few garbage cans to simulate conditions for parking assist usage- in a torrential downpour. Pretty impressive capability although it will take some practice to make effective use of the system—it freaks out the wife a little especially when other vehicles with impatient drivers start to enter the scenario. The adaptive cruise control is very cool too. I’m looking forward to our first road trip where we can make good use of this feature. Here’s to many happy miles with the Ford Edge!

Just an FYI, Witt Lincoln in San Diego can activate your DRL by changing a setting in your cars computer. I just had this done and it took them less them 5 minutes to activate them. We have a 2011 Edge and the DLR's are the orange turn signal bulbs on that year. He said on the 2013's he can change them to the LED strips down below. At the same time my cusins brought their 2013 Fusion and he turned on their DRL's. On the 2013 Fusion the DRL's are a lower voltage headlight. They charge $59 to activate the DRL's. First I got my set backordered due to some shipping drama Then when the discounted set finally arrived, outside temperatures were way beyond 110F (45C) to fit it... So I waited for better weather and this morning I finally did it! It took me exactly 2 hours to finish... The result is just hmm... great I didnt connect the dimmer though. I'll check how badass it looks at night. BTW. am I the only one who noticed this? (RH / LH mixup between OEM and replacement items) -

Ok let me start with I'm brand new here so please forgive me if this is already answered somewhere, I did a basic search but didnt see the answer that I was looking for. I have a 2014 Ford Edge that I've had for a month and I got a really good deal on due to some light hail damage, and I've been doing some things to customize it, well I had mentioned to me mother that I would like to remove the cheap black plastic inserts where the DRL's go and get some lights for there. So she surprised me with some that she purchased for me (not certain where but I'd guess E-bay). Well when I went to install them yesterday I discovered that there were no factory plugs for the DRL's to plug into. So my question is does anyone know where I can get the plugs? Is there a factory style wiring harness that I can purchase? I made the turn signals flash just by throwing a cheap jumper wire on there but I thought I'd check here before trying to make my own plugs. -
Hello, This question should be an easy one. I was able to get a hold of some OEM fog/turning. FoMo part numbers BT43-13B220-A & BT43-13B221-A. The dealer was going to give me a wiring diagram, but when I went to get it, I was given the run around. The question is can these lights be used as DRLS? The dealer wants to charge me 130.00 to enable my DRL feature, but I have an SE and I am not sure that is even doable and I am not sure what a fog light is. There are plenty of after market LED wiring harness' w/auto control. Does any one know if the lights and an after market DRL control will do what I want? THANKS!!

This is a sneak peek at the new production version of my Vertical LED Daytime Running Light. The official launch of this product will hopefully take place towards the end of January or early February. The light is currently going through DOT testing to meet both US and Canadian regulations. We are also completing the wiring and control design. I will be uploading more pre-launch photos in the next few days.
