I have a 2014 Ford Edge SEL AWD, UX paint code. I'm looking into getting the chrome grill wrapped with 3M Deep black matte vinyl wrap as well as having the stock rims powder coated black. I'm just looking to see what is out there for modifications that are along those lines. Thanks

There are two 10mm bolts and four plastic phillips screw across the top of the grill. Remove these to loosen grill. The logo is attached to the bezel (ring around the logo) so you have to remove the bezel. On the back of the bezel there are three tabs, two on bottom one on top. Using a long screw driver or flat pry bar push down on one of the bottom tabs firmly while pulling from the front of the bezel. you will feel it when it pops out. Do the same for the other bottom tab then you can pull the whole thing off. The rest is pretty evident, there are two plastic posts that have nuts on them. The nuts cut threads into the posts as they are turned. That's why the replacement logo has two smooth posts on it which confused me at first.

looking for any info or directions to other threads (I've read a lot but if anyone has come across a step-by-step guide that would be helpful) or a thread with tips on doing it with bumper on or off and that kind of thing i'd really appreciate it. Driving a 2008 edge lim. if anyone has done it what size roll do you recommend to do it in one piece? also, I'm totally new to any customizing or mods and just thought this would be a somewhat forgiving project because I imagine I'd screw it up once or twice but hopefully can just peel and redo with new vinyl I'd like to try it on my own only to save money but if anyone knows someone in the Northern NJ area that does vinyle work like this on the somewhat cheap <200? i'd be interested too.

Vinyl wrapped chrome accent on grill of sport edge color matched
the64game posted a topic in Exterior & Body
Ordered the vinyl on eBay and took about 1 hour with tracing out the headlight chrome strip and using the blowdryer to smooth out the edges. Not bad for 16.00 and some time... Let me know what you think... -

I'm selling the three replacement grill pieces for a 2011-2014 edge. My husband bought it for me for Christmas and it was primered but my dad painted it (he's a professional body guy) tuxedo black to match my tuxedo black 2011 Ford Edge Limited. I got a new car so I don't need it and would love to give her a new home $200 plus whatever shipping costs from my zip code (95501). Thanks for reading this and tell your friends!!

The video pretty much tells the story. $3,300.00 in damage. The insurance company will fix it!! I was surprised since it has 271,000 miles on it. The body shop stated that the damages according to their records only amounted to 30 percent of the value of the vehicle. These guys must run on a different set of papers than the car dealer as they say my car is only worth 2k for trade. LOL

I know there already have been topics on here referencing Sport grill replacement and paint. What I want to finally ocnfirm is: 1. What is the actual paint color (code or name) for the 2012 Sport black grill from factory? Is it "tuxedo black"? 2. Has anyone found a site where you can buy just the indivudal grilll replacement pieces (strips) without having to buy all of them? For example, i have a scratch on the top one and don't feel like paying for all when I only need to replace that one. 3. Has anyone been able to find a site where you can get one already pre-painted factory color instead of getting primed pieces to take to shop or having to DIY? Thanks!

Hi Guys, I'm not sure if this question has ever been asked before, but after doing a quick search on the forum, I was not able to find any results related to what I'm about to ask. I have noticed that some of our Edge does not have the plastic cover thing in the front grill that partially hides the radiator. Most of the Edge's out there has a 5 inch plastic "insert" on both sides but mine doesn't. I've checked out a few models and it didn't matter what trim it was. I currently have the 2013 SEL appearance package and as you can see on the ford website, it has the inserts but my car doesn't have them. You can actually see the metal piece of the radiator on one side. Anyone know why and what can be done?

Just completed a small project of plastidipping my 2007 front grille. Chrome was really dull and chipped, so I decided to paint it black completely. I hesitated to remove the grille for painting, so I carefully masked it with painter's tape, sanded it to even out the dents, cleaned it and applied 4 coats of black plasti dip. The result was beyond my expectations - very nice matte finish. Before (fog light bezels plastidipped already): After:

Finally got my new grill installed after painting it black. Tons of fun removing stock grill but got the new one installed after a long battle. -Cruz

Aside from wrapping, painting or swapping out to a Sport grille, are there any aftermarket alternatives out there for a different grille? For example the seemingly endless options on the Escalade, Yukon, etc. (I realize the Edge is still a bit 'new' in it's redesign compared to these 2). I think something like an Audi style grille would look great on the Edge. Thanks in advance.
