Sync "Indexing" each time new music added? What?

So I have noticed that each time I add a new song or TONS of songs, when I plug in the Ipod the Sync says "Indexing" at the bottom. This takes several minutes and THEN goes to "Building Commands". Its not a huge problem but its a bit of a PITA. When its doing these things it makes it near impossible to go to a playlist or new artist. Basically the ipod starts playing alphabetically when doing this so I have to use the steeringwheel advance button to get to a song in the "A's" I want to listen to. Whats up with this thing? New 2013 Edge Sport owner. I'm keeping a 16gb Nano connected in center console. Most everything works as you'd expect. One oddity: I noticed that changing the EQ setting on the iPod does effect the sound when played through the car stereo. Enabling "Sound Check" (volume balancing song-to-song) does not. I've googled the issue and suspect this is confirmed behavior but web searches being what they are - can't be certain. Can anyone here confirm/deny this behavior? Thanks-in-advance.

SYNC shuffles my music alphabetically?

Does anyone else have problems with SYNC shuffling their music? When i plug my ipod touch or iphone into my car, the first song or 2 is actually shuffled and random but then it starts going in alphabetical song order. And when i try and turn shuffle off, it doesn't turn off, it stays on... Is there a cure to this? I have learned that Ford SYNC doesn't love my Apple products but is there a way to actually get the music to shuffle? thanks -
New to this car so just learning...that said I need a little help here please. When operating your ipod through the USB connection we noticed the Sync turns the ipod on when the USB is selected. does it turn it off after usage or do we have to make sure and turn the ipod off? Thanks for help.

iPod - home screen shows Album/Genre instead of Track/Artist

I recently purchased a 2011 Ford Edge Limited with myford Touch (v3.0.2). So, far, I absolutely love all the features and everything has worked perfectly. There's one little thing that is driving me nuts, however... When I plug in my iPod classic (85GB of music), it indexes just fine in about 5 minutes and all ID3 info for each song is there. But when I'm playing a song, the home screen shows the Genre/Album instead of the Track/Artist (like it does when I play music from my BT connected iPhone). I know all the ID3 tags are correct because I can go into the 'more info' section and see all the correct info. I've tried re-indexing and factory reset but neither fixed the problem. So, does ANYONE know how to modify what info the home screen displays? I would think this would be a very simple option somewhere in the system but I can't find it. Anyone else having this issue? Thanks!
