  1. I am plagued with the dreaded oil leak. I have the ebay gasket waiting to be put on a new oil pan. I came across these alumnium oil pan on ali express and ebay. Has anyone seen or used these products? https://www.aliexpress.com/i/3256801712267930.html?gatewayAdapt=4itemAdapt https://www.ebay.com/itm/165955245815?hash=item26a3b416f7:g:UdYAAOSwn8BkhrPH&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4G7hAjNbZX5VB7p6kXLDTENFu%2Fwl47BZC2VT3TR6n6hCpR0AzwI7nUzfUO%2BZ2VEWe5GPl06FoEQiAa5N4S4ffuzzNeqZRo1b5%2BrkQn9R8vixYXAGZ%2F8k%2BlZHS%2FcTO7x7XYC3QFNQ8OyDgnbJCaFQKQVSrnyeO68sT7pFidImFpKISmdRdEd6%2F%2B2esQfxuUobmJ95%2BT5j9HMchLY9RbQScvmyWqEf8vfdIwTuW2K4HlRG9KxXzxqzMK1Jh2nzNk6cFtz5QvyxNO1RMk6bo1T7TURiFWASzTG95rbSo5vS9GAk|tkp%3ABFBMrvjNhMBi https://www.ebay.com/itm/125814640685?hash=item1d4b23102d:g:9zMAAOSw-QlkgaFG&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA8NGWf3oFXW%2BADMsTd%2FWh4IKN0lKJQB0bbeur3tsniDNspBY%2BFdcriFlQVsFKun9kCJaGX6ZrAQrcKfbr8nbNOEmmFO7pkUTxDiuP0znzUcVR2JEaCEo5sZOd%2FbGJsKffBW6vFayWpAyM%2B96e40DYKG2Etfxx8EZzSTf3ZpfVla%2Fhcx69u9qwvtQGLdYsaLSgrssyg4RPI51RtwdKKwIkxqGfyiTUKPYUnOverYKvHERWGkD2MSUCW7HojBpvHlE0QortumxnFucUJVLBdGiAqfK4Qg75xBXVXneNMEBpCBqICj6Hu4Nu4eEs3HHPnxXZkw%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR96DhIXAYg
  2. I found myself wanting to raise the rear seat bottoms on my 2013 “gen1” Edge Limited to access the under seat area for cleaning, storage and the ability to use the entire rear seat floor area to carry cargo. Forums that I visited indicate that the seat bottoms are (not easily) removable in gen 2 Edges but not removable at all in the gen 1 platform. Follow along as I show how I modified the seat brackets to enable the bottoms to be lifted. The Mod requires very little in the way of tools and supplies. The only real expense for me was the purchase of (4) cotterless pins (which I found on Amazon) for the bottom seat brackets. Difficulty level 4/10. Tools / Supplies needed: Ratchet with 10mm and 18mm socket Angle grinder or equivalent Drill with 7/16 bit 4- 7/16” cotterless pins 1.7” reach Beginning Remove the plastic trim pieces covering the seat brackets on the floor of the vehicle. Next use a 18mm socket to remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts attaching the seat brackets to the floor. Raise the seat bottoms up and remove the 2 - 10mm bolts that attach the “H”under seat bracket to the seat bottom. This is the “H” bracket after removal. You will now use an angle grinder to grind down one side of the pin that connects the bottom bracket to the “H” bracket. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Look at the pin closely; one side will be flat and one side is tapered. You will grind off the TAPERED END, not the FLAT END. (You will see why in a minute). Here is a better view of the bottom foot attachment to the “H” bracket showing the tapered end. After grinding down the tapered ends, tap the pin out of the bracket. Be careful not to damage or loose the plastic washer inserts on the bracket. They are located on the “H” bracket and stay in place to reduce rattling and keep the hinge point tight. Here is a view of the pin after grinding and removal. Note the difference in the flat and tapered end. The tapered end is smaller. That’s why it must be the end ground down. Next, take your drill with the 7/16 bit and increase the diameter of the hole in the bottom foot brackets that the smaller end of the pin went through. The hole in the other side of the bracket is fine and is left alone. Here is a pic of a foot bracket drilled and placed back in the vehicle. Re-attach the “H” brackets to the seat bottoms with the 10mm bolts that were removed earlier. Next, replace the foot brackets on the floor and re-attach with the 18mm bolts and nuts that you removed earlier. Do not re-install the plastic foot trim as it can not be used with the cotterless pins. Lower the seat bottom down and line up the holes in the foot and “H” bracket. (Hopefully you have not lost the plastic inserts); insert the cotterless pins. BAM! You now have rear seats that raise and tilt!
  3. I just purchased a siren/speaker for my Ford Edge 2018. I realize now that I will probably have to remove some parts to install it. Does anyone have suggestions as to where I should put it and how to install it the easiest?
  4. Has anyone purchased the Livernois tuner for their 2019 Edge ST? Also looking for an exhaust, I've always had Borla or Roush on my Mustangs but looking for something subtle for the dad car.
  5. I have a 2008 Edge limited. For the last 7-8 months I have non stop been looking for a ford raptor style grille with the ford letters and amber lights. From what I see there isnt a single one for this year that i can find. I have seen them online on some newer ones but not for the 08. Has anyone else seen where to possibly get one? or know of a place that can custom make one for it? Thanks!
  6. It looks like Ford is eliminating everyone except those authorized by Ford from making any changes with the new FDRS system (Ford diagnostic and repair system). From what I understand the system is cloud based (so no stand alone systems) and requires a license & password along with the VIN of the vehicle. Therefor Ford has complete control of any mods. Looks like many 2018 Ford vehicles and all future models will no longer have consumer access for modifications. This is total BS! Personally I think it's important for those wanting to change or add features on the auto they own, to be able to do just that. If I want the push of my turn signal to be 5 flashes instead of 3, then I should be able to do that. If I don't want the 2 honk feature when exiting my car, then let me disable it. If I want the dash display to show the HVAC functions, then I should have that choice. If I want to add a key without paying exorbitant costs, I should be able to do that. If I'm missing something please chime in or if anyone has something to add, please do so...
  7. Selling my stock cat back exhaust system off of my 2010 Ford Edge Limited AWD. I purchased the Magnaflow system so no longer need the stock one. No leaks or cracks, in good condition. Has approximately 60,000 miles on it. Preferably a local pick up since shipping would be a concern. It's all in one piece. $150 or make offer. Located in La Crosse,WI, can travel a little ways if needed. Call or text 608-780-6745 thanks, Ryan

    2008 SEL Mods?

I just picked up a 2008 Edge SEL with the panoramic sunroof, upgraded sound, and all leather. So far I really like the vehicle, but I'm wondering what mods I should do to it. Performance: Will a programmer help boost my MPG? I'm not a huge car guy so I just need to get something that I can plug in and say "give me more MPG" and be done with it, so if it will help, which one should I get? (I've lurked on the forum and got a little overwhelmed by all the info) Different Air Filter? From what I've read, some say it will help the performance of the vehicle, some say it doesn't. It would be nice to get a little bit of a boost from a stop light, but mostly looking for increased MPG Exterior: I will say that the headlights are not as bright as I would like them to be. I came from an '08 Escape, and feel like I could see a lot better at night with that than this. Would some new headlights help with that? Can a non-mechanical idiot like me install them? Mudflaps? I hate having snow all down the side of my vehicle and have had mudflaps on most of my vehicles. Any recommendations on ones that don't make the vehicle look stupid? Which vent visors should I get? The glue on or the ones that go in the window track? I've never had vent visors, but have always wanted some. Any recommendations on brands? Interior: The factory floor mats are shot, suggestions at a replacement? Cell Phone Holder: The one I had on the Escape clipped to the air vent, but it is too short for the vents on the edge. Anybody have any suggestions on a good one for the Edge for my iPhone 6? I was tempted to get one that goes in the cup holder, but I think my GF will kill me if I take away her cup holder. Are there other ones that clip on the vents that work with the Edge that you know of? Maybe something I haven't thought of? I know I don't like ones that suction cup to the windshield. Thanks in advance and I can't wait to hear from you! On a side note, I liked my Escape, but the Edge is way better. Sure, I lost 4x4 for AWD, but I don't go off roading, but I gained a TON of comfort, a MUCH smoother ride, and A LOT more storage.
  12. Hay everyone.. ❤ I really hate the black or gray interior specially for edge sport.. So i decided to change the leather seats and doors but let's see what is your opinions first! Here Some pictures for red interior of land rover evoque.. It's awesome i will do like it
  13. There's a few modifications I'd like to do to my Edge 1.) LED lights in the reflector for tail lights - basically what was done on this thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/11875-ford-edge-led-taillight-reflector-conversion/ The user who made them hasn't been on in months and I was wondering if anyone had any insight as how to do this 2.) Change my DRLs from the low beam to my front fog lights - has anyone done this, I'd imagine it can't be that hard. Either rewiring or a trip to the dealership 3.) Projector retrofit http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/album.php?albumid=118&attachmentid=858 I contacted a retrofit company for a quote, but if anyone here can do them I'd appreciate it EDIT: 4.) Change dashboard/cluster lighting - I HATE the green it feels outdated. I was thinking keeping the red needles, white for the main parts of the gauges and blue for the other parts (km conversion, Hot/Cold End points, etc) Open to any comments/suggestions!
