So on my previous 2019 Ford Edge ST with the B&O sound system I never had this problem at all no matter the sound settings and no matter and the volume. But in my 2022 Ford Edge ST with B&O sound system that I just picked up even after changing sound settings just raising the volume to past half (15) will make the sub in the back bottom out and chatter and its only on the lower frequency sounds where you hear it otherwise it sounds like an āUpgradedā car sound system. I have brought this in and was told that there was nothing wrong and that everything was mounted, nothing was loose, there is no bulletin of this being a common problem, and its just a side effect of turning the volume up on this audio system. I feel thatās BS personally. Iām curious if there is any insight in what has changed between 2019 and 2022 for the B&O audio system and if anyone else has had this problem?

Been a while since I've been on this forum, but I wanted to share my latest project I've been working on for a while. Factory system was OK when I bought the car but always knew I wanted to upgrade at some point. Sounds great! My wife, which could care less, even commented on the sound! Infinity Reference 6832cf in all four doors (tweeter swivels upward) Audiocontrol LC7i processor (Acubass is incredible) Blaupunkt AMP1504 4-channel amp (150W x 4 RMS) and Kicker Hideaway subwoofer under the "40" seat (not looking for a window rattler, but surprisingly puts out a lot of bass) The LC7i makes the sub perform so much better and the sound is so much more full. Collected components over the years and bought when I could get a really good deal so only have about $500 in the entire system, including cables and wiring. It was important to me that the car looked stock so I wanted everything to be hidden with minimal modifications. I am even surprised at the improved sound. Well worth your time if you care about the music in your car.

Okay so I asked about a week ago if it was possible to do an aftermarket sub and amp install on a model that didn't include a stock sub (Without SONY). I didn't have many replies, I only assume because it's quite the task to do an install without a factory sub being in place already. But I have done it:

Hey all, I recently purchased a 2007 Edge and have already replaced the stock speakers in the doors with Polk Audio 6x8's in the rear doors and Polk Audio dxi6501 components in the front doors. Next comes the sub... I have read that the Polk DVC840 is a direct drop in, but is there any other sub that would fit the bill from other companies, such as JL Audio, or others? I would like some more definition, and some decent low end. I realize that it is only an 8" and am not expecting bass miracles. Also, is there any fiberfill in the stock enclosure, or is it an empty chamber? I haven't pulled the rear panel for the sub yet, so this is the inquiring mind questions coming out. Thanks in advance for any and all responses! Gary W.

Brand: JL Audio Model: SB-F-EDG Stealthbox for Ford Edge and Lincoln MKT (fits 2007-2014) Enclosure type: Acoustic suspension (sealed) Driver: JL Audio 10W3v3-2 10" subwoofer Power handling: 150-500W RMS Impedance: 2 ohm This subwoofer is designed to fit in exactly the same space that the factory subwoofer fits on any Ford Edge or Lincoln MKT, model years 2007-2014. It goes behind the passenger side panel in the cargo area. It is a huge improvement to the stock stereo. I used it in a Ford Edge SEL (no factory sub) and loved it, but sadly I'm selling the car and wanted to pass this along to someone who will truly enjoy it. I have all the mounting hardware to securely hold it in place, and had no trouble installing it myself. The only thing I don't have is the mesh speaker grille to cover the cutout, since I had to leave that in the car I'm selling. I'm located in the San Francisco bay area in California. I'd prefer someone local-ish, since I have no idea how much shipping will cost. Asking $350.

I have a 2013 SE, and I'd like to put my aftermarket amp in the back passenger side panel where the factory sub and amp are. I've searched and couldn't find how to remove the panel. Can someone help? Is it pretty simple? Also, anyone know if factory wires are ran back there even if this model doesn't have the factory amp and sub? And what is the best route to run the power wire from the battery to the back panel? Thanks.

Why does my factory subwoofer thumps when car off and key out?
viperdoug posted a topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
Can anyone help me understand why my 2010 Ford Edge Limited's factory subwoofer makes a thumping noise even when the car is off and the ignition key is out? I'm the original owner. It's the strangest thing. It's happened several times. I'm just cleaning out the car or putting something in the trunk and I'll hear a thump noise. Took me awhile to figure out it was the subwoofer. Put my hand on it and every minute or so it just "thumps". Can't figure out what's causing it. Maybe some sort of radio signal interference? Or some audio module in the car going bad? Any ideas out there, or has anyone else had this problem and solved it? -
How is the stock Stereo System in the 2013 Ford Edge SEL?
sagedrummer posted a topic in Audio, Backup, Navigation & SYNC
I am looking to purchase a used 2013 Ford Edge in the next few weeks and I like to have a good thumping sound system. I currently have a 2009 Ford Escape with the audiophile sound system with the subwoofer and dedicated power amp in the rear. The system isn't awesome but it was much better than the stock system. My question is whether I should hold out for the Limited to get the 12 speaker Sony System with subwoofer or if the stock 6 speaker system is good? I think after having a subwoofer in the back, going to car without one may be rough...however I don't want to have to pay another 1-2K for a limited if I could get an SEL? How much would it cost to upgrade the SEL stock system with an aftermarket system that would work with Sync System? -
Now, that I am the proud owner of a 2011 Limited with the Sony Sound System, I do feel it's time to change the speakers and amplification since things aren't as clean as I would like. Given that I am not a person who installs Audio, I will be turning my Edge over to Audio Expression in Mesa, AZ for the install. Has anybody had tried to replace the stock subwoofer with this one: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=267-2510 It seems to be a serious upgrade over the stock one, I manage to get onefor real cheap, and honestly it will give you more volume in the box, and also a lot more refined design...but I could not find any link that shows how to remove the old one, I know that sometime back it was a description, even with pics, on how to remove the stock one, I was not able to find it now....Does anybody knows where to get that info????

Long time lurker here... When I first got my 2011 SEL in 2012 with the stock stereo - no MFT, it sucked. It was so bad that highway travel was unbearable. So the first thing was to replace the door spreaders, we went with memphis / phoenix gold speakers, was done at a local shop as I do not know much about this stuff and am always afraid of breaking clips, etc... This was okay for a few months but the head unit is grossly underpowered, and it needed some bass. I read all the forums about the OEM subwoofer, and the aftermarket JL Audio (and its price, without an amp) And I really DO want that JL Audio hidden sub, but its a steep price to pay, and if I trade this truck in in a couple of years - its money wasted. I really want a nice low end sound but I do not want to have a big clunky box in the back taking up valuable cargo area, so after much debate I wnet with a small amp (Phoenix gold) and a Kenwood (Shelf type) subwoofer - its like a small shelf and I can still place stuff on top of it or also easily remove it if I need to. This Kenwood has a single 10" sub - and sounds really good - Im going back in this week to replace to new amp with a 5 channel amp though. Photos enclosed. Again - this just an FYI so you guys can see another option - I saw the guy pic on here that made the false floor and has like 3 10 or 12 inch subs and 3 or 4 amps where his spare tire was - and I didn't need to rock the block with my edge, nor did I have 4K to drop on a stereo. But this setup of mine sound super nice in the truck - and was around $500 in total - not including the door speakers that were previously changed. Im currently thinking of the Metra dash kit and a touch screen - but I do not LOVE the looks of the metra kit, and I am concerned I may loose functionality of the steering wheel controls.

Since the recent purchase of my '08 Edge, the first car I've bought, I have installed WeatherTech floor liners, and am now on to bigger things. I aim to have this done by the time I start school in the fall. Enjoy the pics! Here she is: And the weathertech's: The audio plans: HU: Pioneer AVH-P2400BT Speakers: stockers for now Sub: SSA Icon 15 Amp: Cadence ZRS-7500D I'll be tinting the windows. 50% on top of factory privacy tint and I'm still undecided about the front. I can't decide if 35% will be too light, or if I'm willing to risk being pulled over for 20%. I've heard quite a few people from near my campus that have been pulled over for it. I'm also contemplating HIDs, but will definitely be doing reverse, turn-signal, interior, and fog LEDs. Today, I'll be replacing my stock HU with this: It's a Pioneer AVH-P2400BT. I'll be using KnuKonceptz Karma SS RCA cables. I'll post more pictures of the installation later today.

My new subwoofer setup. I just added this 12" low profile pioneer and its running on a Rockford Fosgate p500.1bd amp. The original subwoofer location still has the 10" pioneer low profile sub running a RF 400.1 amp. I'm still working out the crossover points between the two subs. Anyway, if you feel like it then please let me know what you guys think. Sorry about the lighting in the pics. We took them at night without much light in the garage. Thanks. The first pic is the rear escort ZR4 laser shifter. I think the tech took the easy way out on the install by not putting the rear shifter on the license plate. That would have required running the wire through the rubber tube that protects all the wire going into the hatch. I hear folks with the laser shifters rarely if ever get hit by laser from the rear. Il add some pics of the front install soon.

Low profile pioneer SW301 12" 2 ohm flat subwoofer for shallow box applications. It can handle up to 1200 watts and 500 RMS. WIll pump out some serious bass. I will entertain all reasonable offers. chris

Pioneer Shallow Mount TS-SW301S/2. Retail on this sub is $179. Amazon is about $70 plus shipping. From me it will go for only $50 plus a few greenbacks for shipping!!! It was only mounted and used for less than three months. I added ridiculous amounts of power so I had to go to the speaker that is right above this one in the Pioneer shallow mount line. This is an amazing shallow mount sub that can easily fit in a box in your spare tire area. They are nice and shallow. There are plenty of other mounting options with this little dude. 12"Max. three rockford fosgate amps along the back of the box. One is a 500.4 and runs two sets of RF component speakers up front and in the back seat area, the middle one is the mono 700.1 watt RF amp that runs the two 12's and the one on the far right is a 300.1 mono amp that runs the 10" sub in the factory location. The 10" sub is actually set to play bass between 100-250hz so it runs as a mid base speaker.
