I read a number of posts here and spent more painstaking hours than I care to confess trying to get the power straightened out for my recent ROVE R3 dash cam installation. As we all know, that driver's-side dashboard fuse panel is ridiculously difficult to access---but not impossible with tremendous patience and non-stop self-encouragement! Since it seems that Ford mixes things up a bit on the fuse panel each year, I want to share where I ultimately landed---in hopes of alleviating some of the burden for others. So here it is: My "constant power" fuse tap is the 30A "spare" in socket 28. The "ACC" fuse tap is the 10A "Delayed accessory..." in socket 2. I tried quite a number of different combinations before achieving access with this. If you have a 2021, I hope this saves you some effort. Cheers! Archer

New 2019+ Ford Edge Dashcam Adapter (Plug and Play)
Vanquished posted a topic in Accessories & Modifications
Hey folks. Just thought I'd give you a heads up. Dongar Technologies finally made a 5-PIN adapter for our Ford Edges. This allows you to quickly and easily run a dashcam off your rearview mirror power without having to use a wiretap. I just did a full Install video of it here: Hope it helps!- 14 replies

Hi, in May I purchased and I installed the Blackvue DR750S 2ch. Soon after that I replaced my battery. I got Kirkland #6, recommended by Costco for Ford Edge. 1000 Cold Crancking Amps, way better than the original one. Installing the dashcam I used the recommended Power Magik Pro Kit and I set the shut off power to 12V, as they recommended. The new dashcam owner was very happy but this happiness lasted only only one month when the Ford Sync started shutting down as soon as I turning off my engine, to preserve battery power. I turned off the Power Magic Kit, disabling the Parking mode. After paying around $600CAD for this toy and not being able to use the Parking Mode ... very disappointing. I fully charged the battery and testing the voltage 12h later, the voltage dropped from 12.7V to 12.12V The average power consumption of the dual lens Blackvue DR750S 2ch is between 300 and 350 milliamps (3.6-4.2 watts @12V). Costco is going to replace the battery for free but I am asking your advise, what to do in order to have the dashcam working in Parking mode? I really don't want to spend another $400 for CelinkNeo battery pack https://www.blackboxmycar.ca/collections/dashcam-battery-pack/products/cellink-battery-neo?variant=5288207024161

I utilize a Blackbox HD dashcam. The suction cup mounting failed within 8 months so I bought all weather double sided sticky tape and it stays mounted on my front windsheild pretty good. I use it running 5 min continous loops while driving. The formated video is MOV which causes me some headaches as I have to convert the files if I choose to use them on youtube or anything else. The camera is set a 720p as this seems to give me the detail I want with the maximum run time I like on the 32gig micro sdhc card. Overall it works allright but the screen has failed now so I can not adjust it. It still records so I just keep using it. A replacement is soon to be obtained in the near future.
