  1. I'm looking at a used 2015 Ford Edge Sport as a family car. They have it listed at $17,500 and it was a rental vehicle. Is 110k miles a lot for these? I need something reliable and the only thing it would ever get is maybe a tune

Clicking sound under front passenger seat

Hi, everyone, Thanks in advance for any help you can provide! I have a 2017 Ford Edge Sport. Totally love it, but for the past several months, there has been a clicking sound under my front passenger seat. It occurs while driving on rough pavement or while going over any sort of bump. It sounds like somebody shaking a pair of dice in their hand. I can hear it whether or not anyone is sitting in the seat. If I adjust the seat position a bunch, it will sometimes stop briefly, but then it resumes again. I had my shop look at it, and they adjusted the lumbar support, because they said it was loose. However, that did not stop the clicking sound. It sounds like something is loose and just needs to be tightened up, but I can't find what that may be. Any suggestions? Thanks again!
  4. Hey Fellow Fordies! We just bought our 2013 Ford Edge Sport about 2 months ago - found her at Carmax with 21K certified miles on her. She's beautiful, in near mint condition, barely a mark on her, like the day she rolled off the assembly line in Windsor, Canada. Interior is perfect as well. Apparently, the family who owned her just didnt drive her very much! Carmax wanted to sell me their "Maxcare" extended warranty, but after reading some rather negative reviews online, I opted to go to a respected Ford dealership near our home, South Bay Ford, and bought a Ford Premium Care 5 year/75K miles Bumper To Bumper warranty. First thing I did was take her there and had them install a new Electronic Throttle Body (Im sure you guys know about this issue, scary!). Then, I had them do a full coolant flush (preventative maintenance = happiness with any car, but especially with a Ford Duratec engine - we all know about the water pump issues), and an oil change. Lastly, I had them install some cool OEM Ford emblems I found on E-Bay that the seller custom paints in any color you want...we got a pair in Tuxedo Black to match the body color - she looks Bad-Ass! I'll try to attach some pix. I look forward to being part of the group! Best, Bradley Young
  5. Hi guys, I really want the sound so proper to turbo cars. I've seen a couple of post or video on F150 and Explorer Sport (3.5EB) that guys were just disconnecting and pluging 2 hoses, completely removing 2 others, and everything was done with the original BPV. Can this be done on my 2016 Edge Sport to have that same kind of result? If yes, I want to know where are the hose to plug and if (any) are to be removed like on the Explorer Sport (3.5EB). Also, would there be any significant advantage to completely replace a "stock" Vented-To-Air BPV system with a gfood dual port BOV, like GBC or Turbosmart? Thank you so much guys!

  11. Have my eye on one of two loaded 2016 sport models, am just torn between the 21" or the standard 20" wheels. Live in New a England where winter driving and potholes , rough surfaces etc are a factor. I like the idea of the low profile 21" black wheels (plus they look great) but wish to know from other owners or people w experience if they ride too hard /rough, and if in general it's better to stick with the standard wheels for every day and all season. Main concern is too harsh and bumpy of a ride, plus having to change tires in the winter, I do a lot of highway driving and would rather have smooth softer quieter ride, but if there is really no difference I'd go w the bigger wheels. Obviously I'm torn! any advice is appreciated thanks.
  12. I have a 2015 Ford Edge Sport and every time I go through a car wash it leaks water in my drivers side starting at the headliner and goes all the way down and soaks the carpet. What is the deal with this? I have it at the dealership and they are replacing the windshield......the water is leaking in higher than that?? Any insight on this?
  13. Hey yall, I'm extremely excited to join this Forum as I'm from the heartland - Kansas City. I am an auto enthusiast and have been my whole life. I'm the kind of guy who buys a vehicle and makes it edgy (no pun intended ) With tasteful mods both exterior and interior, I make it a challenge to drive the cleanest ride of my kind in the area. I'm always looking for new attractive ways to enhance my ride by hearing your ideas and checking out your rides as well! I just bought my 2011 Edge Sport AWD a few weeks ago with only 40k Miles. Panaramic sunroof and all. I've only owned Acuras my whole life and this Ford is making me a believer. I also own an Acura TL A-Spec and it's been the best 4 door luxuary sedan I've owned but I enjoy driving this Edge Sport even MORE! I originally bought this SUV for my wife but honestly, I may have to buy her something else because I'm obsessed with the Edge Sport! Modifications already done: - All LED interior lights - LED License Plate Light and Backup LED lights - I purchased LED Switchback lights for the front running/turn signals but have yet to install load resistors (no working properly without them) - 20% front window tint and brow to match - Red Powdercoated and EDGE engraved Aluminum caliper covers (front & rear) - And WeatherTech floor mats and cargo mat for the back Suggestion Needed: 1. Best 55W 6000k HID slim ballast headlight system you know of? Thanks and sorry for the lengthy post!
  14. I have a 2011 Edge Sport and I am going to be driving up to the mountains for a snowboarding trip, where chains may be required. I can't find good solid information on what to use for this vehicle. I see things that say "Never use chains, only cables" and then I see things that says Ford doesn't recommend chains OR cables. So what am I supposed to do in this case? I do not have a AWD vehicle. I know whatever I get will be expensive because of these big tires, but that's half the reason I love this model If anyone has any advice, please let me know.
  15. hello, i'm new here and just purchased a used 2011 Edge Sport. I love the vehicle, however my one complaint is the headlights...they suck at night. BIGTIME!! so i have been researching HID kits for the Sport and have found that many don't sell a kit for the 9012 bulb and that many dislike and frown upon those who want or have HID kits in their edge. not looking for lectures on those who don't agree with HID kits, i am looking to ask those of you who have installed a HID kit, which one did you use? quality issues? longevity? really anything you wish you knew when you bought it that you know now. i have been looking at this one: www.carxenonhidkits.com/Edge-Halogen/High-Low-Beam-Beam-9012-Bi-xenon-Hid-Conversion-kit-slim-ballast-Ford-Edge-2011 thanks so much in advance for any help. Gabe 2011 Ford Edge Sport
  16. just installed my TRS HID kit and wanted to get everyones thoughts on the beam pattern i am getting. does this beam pattern right for a HID kit or have i done something incorrect? i haven't tried driving at night yet to see the pattern on the road ahead, but wanted to ask everyone here while i waited for dark. thanks everyone.
  17. I have just purchased a 2013 Ford Edge Sport, with the 22" wheels. I live in a very snowy area, and when I purchased the vehicle I imagined that I could swap out the 22"era for smaller rims and slap some snow/all terrain tires on for winter. I have been told, however, that the 22" rims are the ONLY rims that fit the car, and that all terrain tires are not an option at all. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated as the snow is about to start falling and the Pirelli Scorpions (while beautiful tires), im imagining are horrible in the snow. Please respond, thanks!
  18. Does anyone still have the stock exhaust system for the 2011 edge sport 3.7? I want to go back to stock without paying an arm and leg at ford. Please PM me. Thanks, Dave
  19. Hello all... I just purchased a Certified Pre Owned 2011 Edge Sport from my local dealer, and have a couple of questions regarding CPO minimum standards. Any info that you may have would be appreciated. A bit of backstory... I found a great low mileage CPO 2011 Sport at the local dealer... just what I had been looking for, especially with FoMoCo 1.9% financing incentive. Overall I am extremely pleased with the vehicle... looks great, drives great and has all of the bells and whistles that I wanted in a new car. When inspecting the car on the lot, I noticed a couple of items that had been overlooked during the inspection process... a couple of noticeable scrapes on the front rims (including some red paint that I asked the dealer to have buffed out before delivery.)... and a misaligned lower body panel. At that time I mentioned to the sales rep that the front tires looked sort of worn... and he assured me that they had been inspected and would have been replaced if they did not meet CPO standards.... which he said was 75% remaining (wrong, it's 50%) After getting the vehicle home and inspecting it more closely, I felt like the front tires were really not up to what I would have expected for a CPO vehicle of this price. I researched the tread depth info online, and in several places found the original tire depth to be 11/32nds. I took the truck to a local tire shop, and asked them to measure the tread. I was told that they measured 4/32nds... which is below the CPO minimum of at least 50% tread remaining. So, I went back to the dealer to discuss the situation... my sales rep brought another guy outside to make a decision. Not sure who he was, but obviously someone who was responsible for CPO vehicle qualification. I was surprised by his attitude... not, "hey I know you just bought a really expensive car from us, and I want to do all that I can to make sure you are as happy with your purchase as possible"... Instead, he quickly looked at the tires and said, they looked fine to him... I requested that he measure the tread depth... which he did in one spot, one one tire, and said he measured between 5.5 and 6/32nds. I asked him to measure the other tire... and he said it had 5/32nds left. He also measured the tire on the outside tread, and not the center... where most of the wear takes place. I said that according to my info, that meant the tires did not meet the Ford minimum... and basically he argued with me, said that 5/32nds was at least 50% of 11/32nds (?)... and told me that the car had been inspected by trained professionals, and so it must be right. (Keep in mind that I had already found several items that had been overlooked by his so called professionals)... and I forgot to mention I had also looked at another CPO car on the lot that had several exterior scrapes and dings that were obviously not CPO quality. I was not satisfied with his evaluation, and so me and my sales guy went to the local tire shop that handles the dealer's tire work. Again, the so called professionals, looked at the tires and proclaimed them pretty good... I said I am not interested in your opinion... I want them measured... this is a matter of data, not opinion. So, again we go thru the measure the tread process... and the tire shop numbers are different than both previous measurements... surprisingly, the tire shop did not measure the tire in several places, until I told them that was the correct way to measure tread depth. When trying to determine what 50% meant, I asked the tire shop for the new tire depth. Strangely, the tire shop showed the new tread depth to be 10/32nds... and not 11/32 like everyplace I had researched online. The dealer offered to split the cost of a set of new tires... which I was not happy with, but agreed to do because it seemed like the best deal I was going to get. Here's where the story gets interesting: The next day I go back to the tire shop to have my 2 new tires installed... And the guy at the tire store says... "you know, after you left yesterday, I pulled our paperwork from the inspection of that car... and WE RECOMMENDED TO THE DEALER THAT THEY REPLACE THE FRONT TIRES.... But for some reason they decided not to do it. What? You mean the tire professionals recommended replacing the tires according to their understanding of the CPO guidelines... but someone at the dealer vetoed that. So... any advice on this? I just dropped $330 on one tire that should have probably been replaced. And now, all I can think about is... what other parts of the CPO inspection did they hedge on? Should I contact a FoMoCo corp representative? One last question: A couple of the rims have obvious scratches... looks like they were rubbed on a curb... Should those have been replaced to qualify as CPO? I have looked everywhere for CPO details... but can only find brief descriptions of the minimum requirements to pass inspection. thanks in advance for any and all help. Scott
