  2. I recently bought a used 2013 Ford Edge SEL. My rear wiper worked when I bought the vehicle, for about 3 days. Since then, it does not. The rear washer works the way it is supposed to. The front wipers work exactly as they are supposed to as well. I do NOT have rain sensing wipers. There are no DTCs related to the wipers/washers in any way. I have used Forscan to monitor the input/toggle of both the front and rear wiper/washer switches. They have the same values when toggled. I have tested the appropriate fuses and relay(s) in the BJB (#4 30A JCase fuse/Wipers, #64 20A MINI Fuse/Rear wiper motor, #55 Wiper relay, as well as #44 Rear washer relay and #82 15A MINI Fuse/Rear washer). I have replaced all fuses and relays with new ones. No change in functionality. I have used a multi-meter to check and test the voltage to the rear wiper motor wiring harness, and have gotten a consistent reading of 12.57 volts. I replaced the rear wiper motor. No change in functionality. I changed out to front wiper motor, on the off chance that the ground pulse signal was not being sent from it, to the rear motor. No change in functionality. I am at a loss. Is there a way in Forscan that I can force the rear wiper to cycle? Or, perhaps something else that I may not have thought of?
  3. I have a 2013 Ford Edge. Starting just yesterday, the backup camera has flipped and is displaying upside down. My guidelines are also not showing. The camera is also displaying vertical lines on image. I've checked settings and there is no option for orientation and my guidelines are 'on'. I've read this might possibly be a software issue? I'm hoping the camera isn't going out. any help would be appreciated! thanks!

  5. Hello all, I’ve been lurking in the forum for a few weeks now and finally made an account. Hoping to get some help from some forum experts here. We have a 2011 Ford Edge with 180000 miles. About to take it on our move to Italy and want all the kinks worked out before we go to a place with no ford support. Now, I’m a pilot by trade, some what mechanically inclined. I do spark plugs and oil regularly , understand the concepts of multimeters (never used one though) and have the Haynes manual for my car. symptoms: -cruise control works intermittently (20%) of the Time.. sometimes the cruise control turns on other times it does not. The other day it worked fine then I got gas and it didn’t work, I’ve also seen functionality on all the buttons during one ride. So one particular button doesn’t appear bad. -the ok button on left side of steering wheel control works maybe 1 out of 10 pushes -horn seems like it’s missing one one of the horns when I press it on the wheel -right side steering wheel control buttons totally operational a -left side steering wheel left/ right and up down seem functional. solutions: - replaces the left Side control button panels completely option 2 - based power wiring sounds like this could be a left clock spring failure. Maybe replace the clock spring . Could I confirm this with a multi meter ? questions: -I’m nervous about doing work with the airbag, I’ve read several iterations of precautions. Disconnect battery and negative as well, wait up to 30 minutes then you can start working on the wheel with no airbag issues. Also read to pull the fuse for the airbag, any other suggestions or things I’m missing. - if I go to replace the clock spring do I need to do a steering wheel alignment? Or if it aligns with the arrows it will automatically align? -based on the symptoms what do you suspect is wrong? How would I figure out if it’s the buttons or the clock spring ? - any other guides you’d recommend before doing this mx? Which tools do I need for the clock spring release and steering wheel bolts ? Thanks all! - Capcadet
  6. New owner of 2009 Lincoln MKX. Love the vehicle so far but it does have some quirks. I have asked this same question on another Lincoln Forum . . twice, but no replies. My understanding is that the Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX are basically the same vehicle so I hope that someone here can shed some light on why it's doing this and what the fix is. The problem is when the parking lights are turned on, there is about a 10 second delay (with no parking lights or dash lights coming on) and then the headlights come on with the dash lights. When the knob is turned to headlights, there is no difference, the same lights stay on. So, it's either headlights on or no lights on. There is no in-between, meaning no parking lights without the headlights being on. And what's up with the 10 second delay? I have some other quirks to ask about but will try and get this figured out first. Thanks!
  7. Hi, I (of course) was lucky enough to have the DOOR AJAR issue in my 2013 Ford Edge SE V6 AWD with Convenience Package. My question is ... can anyone out there tell me what wires in the door go to the open and close on the sensor so I can hook up another method (magnetic switch) that will work? OR if you know where to get a Wiring Diagram? Thanks In Advance!
  8. Hi, I have a problem with my ford edge 2014 limited AWD, last time I was driving in the highway when suddenly the car started losing power (at low and high speed), so I tried to accelerate but I feel an hesitation of the engine and the car almost start shaking, and I thought that the car was going to stall, hopefully not (or not yet). I took the extended warranty (05 years) and unfortunately it's ended on March 2019. Any idea what the problem could be? Thanks in advance! Regards,
  9. Hi guys, My 2013 ford edge engine stalling in idle speed and showing low engine oil pressure warning, the engine starts normally after turn off the key and restarts. My car has done 10600KM so far, this happened to me several times now. If the Aircondition is in the on state then the engine won't stop, also two or three times I felt an engine shivering during refueling and the engine stalled. There is a slight variation in the RPM in idle speed. Mechanic scanned the ECU but he couldn't identify any issues and said maybe some issues with the oil pump or electrical faults. I couldn't able to leave the car in the service center as they said it may take longer to identify and fix the problem. Anyone experienced similar issues and know the real reason behind it? Please share.
  10. Hi guy, I'm new this forum as a member, but have used it quite a bit over the last 6 months. Really great information and resources here. I wanted to post a maintenance schedule that I've gathered from this forum and others to put it in a nice and easy table. Long story short, I wanted to contribute to something that is printable. That being said, this is what I've gathered. 10k 20k 30k 40k 50k 60k 70k 80k 90k 100k 110k 120k 130k 140k 150k Engine Oil and Filter Change X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X Tire Rotation X X X X X X X X X X X X X X X Engine Air Filter Replace X X X X X Cabin Air Filter Replace X X X X X X X Power Transfer Unit (PTU) Fluid Change X X X X X X X Coolant Flush/Fill X X X Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) Flush/Fill X X X X X Rear Differential (RDU) Flush/Fill X X X Power Steering Fluid Suck/Refill X X X Brake Fluid Change X X X Replace accessory drive belts (if not replaced) X X Replace Platinum Spark Plugs X From this standpoint, and I know this can be a loaded question. Anything I should move around or add? Preventative Maintenance Schedule.pdf

Starter / Positive Battery Cable Help

I completed a timing chain / water pump replacement and cannot figure out where this connector goes. It is at the end of the positive battery cable / starter cable. Does anybody know what this is, and where it is supposed to attach? Many thanks.
  12. Our 2015 Ford Edge recently started a rattle noise when we start the engine. The noise goes away when we start driving and comes back again when we stop in a signal or take turns. We thought something not right. So, we took it to the dealership the next day. What dealership told us they think it's a broken flexplate and they gave me an estimate of 6,000$-8,000$ to fix that issue. The dealer asked Ford if they will cover the repair and Ford said they will only cover 1,450$. The edge has 66,000 miles on it, which is just over 6K miles from there 60,000 miles warranty. I have friends who work at Ford. After talking to them and reading a few other forum articles regarding this issue what I found out it is a very common issue for Ford, which is almost always a manufacturing fault. Ford even recalled certain run time Edge for that exact same issue. I asked my dealer why Ford is not covering all which is basically their manufacturing fault and they asked me to call Ford customer care directly. I just called them and they are basically blabbering the same thing saying we support what dealership recommends. If dealership thinks Ford will cover then Ford will otherwise just keep the receipt in case Ford decided to cover that in future. This is insane!!!!!!!!!!! FORD DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF THEIR OWN FAULT". They expect their customer to spend 5,000$ on a repair just after 4 years. Obviously a crack never happens suddenly. If probably started way before 60K miles. It's only large enough now to create a noise. A flexplate crack means there's something else wrong and ford should take responsibility for that. They can't expect their customer to pay expensive repairs on a new car. Should I take my car to a different dealership or a different repair shop to check? I can't afford 5,000$ repair.

  14. The web page MACT Garage is live and working now. This page was created from private donated funds to organize and provide information in a visual sense for Ford Edge owners to find information. It includes many categories of parts and model years. Cruise through it and book mark it for future use. The page will be updated with more information on a scheduled basis as interests and demand present the needs for the information.
  15. Hi guys!! Does anybody know if a Sony radio faceplate off a 2013 Ford Edge Limited would be compatible with a 2013 SEL model? They look pretty similar to me but I want to make sure that it will actually work with my SEL.
  16. A short video to show you why you should change this filter often. Changing it will make the air cleaner and allow more flow when using your Heating or AC.

    3.5 Duratec Thermostat replacement

Replaced the thermostat since my OBDII and Forscan Lite App were showing operating temps of 207 Degrees F. I installed a Carquest 180 Degree thermostat and then tested it out and the engine was back in the range of 195-198 Degrees in operating temperature. Normal for the Edge 3.5 I then had the coolant vacuumed out and refilled with new global coolant. Everything is now running well and no abnormal temperatures are noted.
  20. I replaced the motorcraft 540 cca battery that was about 19 months old and dead or dying with an Odyssey Extreme 65-PC1750 AGM deep cycle 950 CCA battery. My Edge has never started so fast!!! Great battery and you can say good bye to lazy cold winter starts.
  21. Had to be done since the alternator (motorcraft GL928) with internal voltage regulator failed. No battery light was displayed yet it was not charging the battery or providing sufficient charge. This video will provide you with the information to perform this replacement. Not really as hard as it seems.

    35's on 2008 stock Edge?

I was just curious and seen a Facebook post of a buddy selling some 35's on 16" rims. Lug pattern matches up. Was just seeing if anybody has done it with pictures. Thanks

    x GPS

I have a 2011 Ford Edge. The battery died a few weeks ago and was replaced with a new one. Ever since then I've noticed my Navigation is not working. The GPS sign with an X shows on the lower left side and shows me stuck in the same location no matter where I go. I've tried the following to no avail.. 1. Took out the SD card and reinserted. 2. Tried performing the Eject / lower arrow combination buttons to bring up the gps calibration but just keeps scrolling the FM stations. I read this trick on a few other threads but have tried numerous times with the same results. 3. Unscrewed the antenna and screwed it back in. 4. Unhooked the negative battery cable.. waited 1o minutes and hooked it back in to reset. Any other suggestions or is a trip to the dealership the only other option ? Thank you !
  24. I recently installed a filter minder in my Ford Edge. 1st you will find these on trucks mostly and diesels. I installed my filter minder for the purpose of knowing when the filter is actually no longer performing. This means the air flow to the engine has been restricted and is very dirty or clogged. You can not tell the filter is not working properly by just looking at it and 99 percent of us look at our filters and change them just on observation and not data. This device provides a visual for you to actually see when your filter needs to be changed. I paid for this device so it is not a paid advertisement. It is because I drive 60K miles a year and I am tired of the quick lube places trying to upsell an air filter because it looks dirty. This device will pay for it's self just by not having to purchase so many air filters because they look dirty. Save some money.
  25. 95 Octane & Fuel Economy My Ford service provider (Dubai-UAE) said that there is an additive in the 95 octane (recently added) that's affecting the fuel economy. This answered why I was getting between 7.8 - 8.3 km/L (18.3 - 19.5 mpg) combined, which means around 500-550km on a tank (depending on how heavy my foot is). So the service provider advised I change to 98 octane - which I did this morning which gave me at the end of today 8.9 km/L (20.9 mpg) combined. Which means technically I should get 600-647km to the tank (depending on how heavy my foot is). What fuel do you use and what's your economy rate?
